Yup....my setup (minus the WIIM). I have it on my PC via. USB. Fun and compelling sound. Sonically fills my smaller room adequately. Headphone output is a real treat. This setup has opened me up to other genres.....Jazz and individual instruments (or voices) isolate so well on this it takes you by suprise.

I am upgrading from a pair of Edifier 1280DB speakers to ELAC Debut 3 DB63s, RSL subwoofer, Cambridge Audio AXR100 and Wiim mini. Christmas coming early and I am excited !

I can testify that the DB63s pair extremely well with RSL speedwoofer 10s mk II. I use a 2000 Sony ES receiver and I'm honestly blown away

I don't question the SMSL's fidelity but do have concerns that its 10 watts is sufficient. ELAC recommends 20-140 watts for the Debut 3.0 DB63 and the higher wattage will almost certainly yield superior dynamics and bass control. Class A amps are not known for their bass control. The Cambridge Audio AXA35 with 35 watts might be a better choice and at $399 a savings of $259.00 is had over the SMSL. Plenty to get an external DAC like the FiiO K11 R2R to improve upon the WiiM Pro Plus's fidelity.

Wiim ultra with lfe + sub would be much better due to possibility to take out low frequency load from amplifier, and amplifier then can work only with mids and high with much better quality and performance, especially in case of class A.

For a desktop setup with the Elacs near field on stands, and on or near on axis, can I do without the Wiim (assuming the primary reason being the room correction feature) and the onboard EQ? Also will pair it with a Topping D50S DAC from my current headphone amp setup. Thanks so much!

I just bought the SMSL Raw DAC 1 (not MDA) and it has the high end AKM chipset. Sounds fantastic but no headphone amp fwiw. I might try this VMV amp yet not sure if 10 watts is enough for my speakers tho. Still on the fence just because of this.

I’m scared to pick the wrong speaker. I want voices and deep voices that sound real. Is the s400 mkii the speaker for me or do you have another suggestion?
