I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but I figured it's worth mentioning. I know you're not going to drive this thing much and wet weather and it probably doesn't matter because you're going to run PVC sleeves over the tire but your tires are backwards. Like if you literally just swap the right to the left and left to the right you'll be right. The way you have them on now if you were to drive it in wet weather you'd be sucking water straight to the center of the wheel whereas the other way around under proper rotation those will be expelling water. Just food for thought, love the videos keep it up can't wait to see this thing going fast
@itsmikelake8 ай бұрын
Yeah I just put them back the wrong way in this video haha. I’ll for sure swap them! Thank you 😁

I've been seeing others commenting about having an increased volume right before your intake valve. As a sort of leveler of boost pressure of single cylinder engines in between intake cycles. I've been thinking about this and watching other youtubers, and they are rarely intercooled. I think having the intercooler would serve this purpose. Sorry if this comment is too late and you have already started production of it. Maybe if it runs rough, it's worth a try, but I don't think you will gain much in this setup. Looking forward to the next one!

Could you test the gas tank for leaks? I would create a custom adapter that attaches from your air compressor to the gas tank. Then, blow compressed air into it to ensure it's 100% leak-proof. The battery is right next to the tank, and if it happens to be leaking when a spark occurs, you can risk a fire.

You need a chain guard to protect your fuel pump and tank incase of a chain breakage
@icanseeyouallfromuphere8 ай бұрын

@daviddeleon63688 ай бұрын
One thing came to mind maybe put a washer on the bolt that mounts the tank so it’s at a very slight angle so the fuel drains to the pump easier

When you sleeve the axle make sure you put in a decent amount of plug welds also!! 👌

To utilize space you could put the battery behind the engine under the seat and if the axel snaps the wheel might take the fuel tank with it just something to think about looks great though cant wait too hopefully hear some turbo noises ❤

sorry if it's too late to say this - but you could use a monster energy 24 Fl oz can as a tank. its aluminum, light, and resealable. I saw someone use that on their race kart build. plus, its monster energy. also, if you want to keep that ecu, or any other important stuff back there safe from wheelies, then add a cage around it.

Love the build! 👍🏼. Hope you don’t mind me say but I’d have mounted the fuel tank upright and have the fuel pump outlet facing forward. Mounting the tank that way will prevent fuel starvation when going round corners due to having no baffles. Then mount the battery under the seat.

My personal preference for axles is a 25mm 980mm long axle, with the 23spline ends, it beans boring the sprocket and brake rubs to fit, and a light machine on the axle to get is perfectly straight, as they are designed to have the brake and sprocket on the outside of the bearing then a spacer and then the wheel hub, but I put both the brake and sprocket inside the bearings so had to machine it to suit. But this is a gokart that I built to take a 420cc engine that blew up, so went back to a 212cc that is worked and has 16hp at 7000Rpm and a 7500 redline, and with a 6:1 gearing it's till damn fast, 110kph with 18x8.5x8 tyres, and a bit less for 15x6.5x6 tyres, but better acceleration and braking. I've always just used a gravity fed Mikuni carb, bit I guess you have fuel injection with a electric pump, that makes things much easier for locating the tank wherever if fits.

Damn that thing sounds like a fricken WEAPON! If I can get this thing up to 100kmh I’ll be blow happy 😁🤣

Another awesome vid. I'm looking forward to the end result! Great to see that you implement suggestions in the comments (also from other comments). The cart looks so sick. That silicone(?) extender on your filler neck, is it for fuel? It will be fine for a couple of weeks/months depending what material it is but after it will dissolve into the fuel. I'm not sure having the tank at the back is disastrous. I guess filled it would be below 5 kg total, so it's not a big impact. Extending the frame 100mm will definitely help lots.

looks mad, but there is a problem with the fuel tank laying down.. even at half a tank the fuel is going to wash to one side when you drift and starve the pump. might have to mount it upright. that will open more space for the battery anyway. fill up the water bottle 3/4 and swing it left and right you will see
