Great video. Love to remember my wrestle days.

While not as exciting as a bunch of takedowns, it's interesting to see these longer attrition matches play out. It's a real test of stamina for both wrestlers.

What a lengthy match! I actually had to look up what UTB Ride Out meant....interesting concept and a good way to finally settle a match that has gone on so long.

It's very rare that a match makes it all the way to the Ultimate Tiebreaker; but when it does happen, it's a good indicator that the two are as evenly matched in skill level as possible.

Knew this would be a good matchup from the start

Another great video. Thank you! I was thinking the guy in the red singlet in the background was on the Red Hawks as well but later noticed his singlet said Red Devils. Hopefully you caught their match as well. He looks like a force to be reconned with. Keep up the great work.

Question: In the lower weight categories, do boys who are more physically mature, lilke Olson here, usually have an advantage over their oponents?
@sebbb73752 жыл бұрын
in my experience no, I wrestle 120 and have seen very skinny kids win over muscular kids like Olsen.

What was happening at 9:55?
@MidwestWrestle2 жыл бұрын
There were two issues that needed to be corrected. The first is the clock: It continued to run after the last whistle, and so they needed to put additional time back on the clock to correct the error. Also, the stall call that was made at the last whistle was the second stall call for red, and so a point was missing from the scoreboard-it should have been 1-2, but it had been left at 1-1, and so that needed to be corrected as well.

so I gotta ask, is it normal for an 18 year old to be wrestling someone younger? I noticed Ethan has a tattoo so he must be at least 18 but Gunnar looks younger. is it only based on weight?
@MidwestWrestle2 жыл бұрын
It is based on weight and division. Anyone within the High School division can wrestle anyone else in the High School division. Also note that minors under 18 can get tattoos with parental permission, so it is not necessarily a safe assumption to presume that he was 18 at the time this was filmed.

@@MidwestWrestle hm interesting! that's just weird to me that they do that in wrestling where they group it all together based on weight but in swimming its usually divided by ages.. also had no idea about tattoos! I guess theyre just like piercings then
