I 1000% agree with Sam at around the 9:40 mark. Focusing on skills that are transferable.

Loved this interview! I've been following Sam's channel for a couple of years and have learned a LOT to prepare myself and my family to respond to medical emergencies. I've built trauma/med kits for my EDC bags, family cars, and home from what I have learned, and only buy from reliable sources (mostly NAR) to be sure I don't get bogus gear that's going to fail when I need it. I am also looking for a TECC muti-day/hands-on course for civilians here in central FL to improve and test our capabilities. It's great to know Sam's back story and more about his experience.

Great video/podcast! I’m enjoying his channel and tips & tactics. I just customized my FAK per his recommendation using a vacuum sealer! Being a hunter in the backcountry and having the essentials for trauma are very important! Thank you!

Has anyone looked at Allaquix (Kaolin impregnated compressed z-fold gauze). It comes 3' x12' for about $9 which is a small fraction of QuickClot or Combat Gauze. I imagine that Kaolin is dirt cheap and the pricing of other hemostatic gauze brands is an artifact of the cost of Chitosan and an opportunity to tweak margins way up. Any ideas on this? Have you seen or tried this product? Thanks for your responses.
