I am not into clickbait so if you only want to know what I do for a living skip to 9:45 where I will tell you I am a full-time paramedic, reserve deputy sheriff, SWAT team medic, and part-time firefighter paramedic. If you want to know HOW I got to this point then fear not, I will tell you my entire story.

This is really going to help me with what I want to do. When I was in school, I wanted to become a first responder because my cousin was an EMS Lt/FF. I looked up to him so much. He taught me everything I need to know and he even got me classes to take. He helped me get certified through the red cross to get my First responders Cert. He unfortunately passed away about 9 months ago at the age of 24. They gave him a full escort of about 4 stations in the surrounding areas. Every since then, ive lost my fight because he was my mentor and now he is gone. This video really put the spirit back into me. You have just inspired me to put my head back in the game and I'm now going work towards where my cousin was before he passed. Thank you for your service of protecting and saving the lives of many. You are a hero to many, and thank you for inspiring me.

Im currently typing this comment in a middle of a nightshift as a security guard (to be able to afford living out of my parents house for the sake of getting a degree) in the university I'm getting my bachelors in EMS, after serving 3 years as a combat medic(more of a emt) in the IDF. Hey Sam it’s great to hear your story and how far you have come with everything. Recently I have enrolled in my local EMT course and am loving it so much. I am from a area in WV that is overloaded with opioid overdoses (recently this week I lost a close friend in a opioid overdose). I didn’t realize how much my local EMS system has on their plate with the constant growing drug problem. I am hoping to take a Paramedic course in January of next year after getting some hands on work experience as an EMT. Don’t stop making videos, I love the videos they are always wonderful. Looking forward to the upcoming videos.

Sam, I just found this channel and I must say you are a man of many faces. Bald, or with a fade and clean shave, or with a fade and beard. I had to go back and make sure it was the same guy. You could use that to your tactical advantage. Great content, and you are an amazing person. Very inspiring. I spent 10 years in the infantry. Always wanted to do medical related training or law enforcement but never committed to either. I’m also working on my BS in Homeland Security and Emergency Management at GCU. Awesome topic of study. Your channel has got me wanting to go EMT route as well. Hard work and not for everyone. I’ve just been bored since leaving the service and feel first responder would be best fit for me.

The respect I have for you is unreal. I am almost out of the national guard as I want to be in some sort of emergency so bad. My heart has been in medical and public safety for as long as I can remember. I want to do ems but I am super interested in surgical tech and reserve police. As of now my friends and I train every weekend in assisting not only our local public but also officers in trauma situations and natural disasters. I got an offer with the Red Cross to travel to China for a couple weeks but I'm telling y'all now once I complete surgical tech school or ems there is no doubt I want to do reserve police.

I still drink over a pot a day. 2) Keep your eyes open for opportunities not only in education, but life experiences. This is the type of career that if you only give it a little bit, you won't get much out of it. On the other hand, if you give it 110%, you will have a long full career to look back on when you get older. Filled with rich memories. and during the time you work, you will have one hell of a good time!! Keep up the good work my friend. You are a great resource for new recruits.

Absolutely. College is just not right for everyone and there are tons of jobs for those who don't mind getting their hands dirty.

The day I turn 21 I'm sending in my application for reserve deputy. I wasn't aware that this was an option I could pursue until I watched this video. Thanks!

Good luck! You should check with them if you need to be 21. We will take you if you are over 18.

@@PrepMedic Their page says 21. I think its more of a Michigan thing. You can't even get your security guard license until 21. I will however, ask around.

As an retired EMS Paramedic with my CCEMT-P the best opportunity I took was finishing Nursing school ten years ago. I miss taking 911 calls but nursing for the pay vs workload is much better. Also Rapid Response fills that void for better pay. Thanks for sharing your story.👍

@prep medic really loving your videos and I’m so thankful that you are making these resources for up and coming public service personnel, my question to you (little ashamed of this tbh) but i took emt about 8 months ago and I’ve taken the nremt twice with near passing results. I feel at this point though that I’m in need of going back to school but I’m wondering if you think its still possible to study up to that knowledge level? . Keep making awesome videos !!!!

First of all I just want to say thank you very much for your work. You are undoubtedly our heroe. Thanks for the sacrifice you make to keep us safe and protected. You are an example for all of us. Thank you for dedicating your live and leave your family every day to take care of the others. There are no words to thanks everything you do. You’re are the best example I have cuz i have the same goal you accomplished already. You cannot imagine all helpful your videos can be to me in order to follow the same path as you did and continue doing. I have bunch of questions for you Sam but unfortunately we haven’t met and I know for sure I’m not the only one who bothers you with all this info. I’ve been looking for you throughout social media in order to send you this email and finally I found you on ig and hopefully you’ll read this email. Sam bud... I know you’re a pretty busy man but if at some point you read this please answer me cuz as I told you you’re a great example for me an for all of us who decided to work in this field and serve the public. Right now I have to make some decisions but I want your advise I took my exams and I applied already in order to become a sheriff deputy in my county. But also I’ve always feel great pasion for first aid and everything related to medicine. I’d like to do both like you do but not everybody has the same circumstances that’s why I decided to reach you out and with hope you could answer me this important questions I got for you. My name is xavier and you can find me as xavi3945 I follow you on ig. Thanks for everything and all the sacrifice you do for keeping us safe bud I’d like to hear from you as soon as you find time for me thanks again.

I want to be a Swat medic eventually. I plan on joining the army as a combat medic, and later hopefully go to the RASP and become an army ranger medic. After my time in the army (not sure how long, might stay a full 20) I want to be a swat medic. I'm 22 years old, I hope it all works out. You're awesome man, keep busy and keep saving lives!
