Totally agree with the wholefood message given here by the brother and it’s great you highlighted the estrogenic water issue as not a lot of people know about that. However, organic, ethically grown, locally sourced, unprocessed animal food should ideally be the bedrock of our diet with organic local plants making up the sides if you can afford this. If you can’t then it’s still healthier to have animal based foods than plants/wholegrains simply because they contain more complete protein/amino acids which are more bioavailable to us than plant foods and protein is an essential nutrient. It’s very unhealthy for people to subsist on mainly plants or non-animals foods, and it’s especially detrimental for children’s growth. This whole movement to push veganism/vegetarianism on people is very unnatural and as far as I’ve researched not a part of the Deen (although I’m always learning on this front). Cattle and their benefits is mentioned many times in the Quran and we know the Prophet (PBUH) loved the meat of ruminant animals and in particular the foreleg. Yes the socio-economic situation of those times meant that meat wasn’t readily available to the masses the way it is to us in the West today but that doesn’t mean we should reduce our healthy wholesome meat intake necessarily but practise moderation in eating. When you think about it we are advised through hadith to only fill 1/3 of our stomachs - try filling 1/3 of your stomach on lettuce and it’s not going to get you anywhere. It’s just not calorically or nutritionally dense enough. But you can very easily get your caloric and nutritional needs by filling 1/3 of your stomach with wholesome animal proteins and fats. Also most Prophets (AS) practised animal husbandry (goat farming etc) so lived off the produce of these animals which would include raw milk, cheese, yoghurt and red meat. People historically knew the value of red meat and how it makes your grow taller and stronger. Also treating animals in the UK with hormones is banned! People seem to think this is normal practise but it doesn’t happen in the UK or EU but in the US. Leaving Brexit as we are now these things should be known as any potential trade deals with the US and Australia might bring this to our doorstep so we have to be aware of it and vote no(!) to it www.soilassociation.org/blogs/2018/june/uk-consumers-reject-hormone-treated-beef/. We have some of the best red meat in the world up here in Scotland with almost all lamb grown in the UK being grass-fed while approx. 2/3 of cattle is grass-fed (more in Scotland as we have less agricultural land and more grazing land). Red meat has seriously been demonised by certain organisations who have their own agendas (I would look into the role of 7th Day Adventists in our current Western dietary guidelines) although Alhumdulillah this has been debunked very well by great research that came out last week reviewing the actual science on the effects of red meat on human health www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0309174014001922. Ruminant animals are also very important for the environment and soil health despite what we are being brainwashed with currently. Our soils are seriously depleting due to monocrop agriculture including soy and corn. Allan Savory has an excellent Ted Talk on why we need to use ruminant animals to save this soil, with it being our only solution to prevent desertification kzbin.info/www/bejne/rKG3eZxthJtppqs. A lot of people do not do well with salads, fruits or veg. We’re told they are healthy, and if you don’t have a leaky gut or compromised immune system (caused by years of consuming junk food) they have good benefits in them (hormesis). But people aren’t told that spinach is full of oxalates (joint pain), lentils/beans/peanuts/tomatoes/aubergines/wholegrains are full of lectins (inflammation) and fibre isn’t good for everybody (bloating, gas, acid reflux, constipation ((surprisingly this is true although people believe the opposite)), IBS, abdominal pain etc). Plant nutrients are not fully bioavailable to us the way animal nutrients are. There is a good article here: www.kevinstock.io/health/health-dangers-of-lectins/ on lectins and Dr Paul Masons lectures on KZbin on both lectins and fibre are very interesting. And sugar is still sugar whether it comes from fruit or white cane sugar - your body still processes it the same way by spiking up insulin so for anybody trying to lose weight it's going to be problematic and probably not the best option. Hope you can have an open mind about this brother and look into an alternative viewpoint.

@@canIhavethishandle Make sure it says raw and unpasteurized on the label. You may need to travel to countryside shops to get it but it's 100% worth it.

I was hoping he would speak about eating healthy whilst on hajj. Everyone I see, goes to hajj eating burgers and all sorts of junk at places such as Al Baik. Some of you may say hajj is more about the spiritual factor however our bodies are an amanah from Allah we must look after it as we will be asked on the day of judgement about it so what have we prepared? Chips? Burgers?
