Hi James, the piece of handrail you cut off. Why don't you use it turned around and fix it to the aft bulkhead. It would make a safer exit up the steps and a good opening on and off the boat. Regards, Dave T.

Hi the bit you have just cut of the back upstand I would have just move it over to the back of the cabin so no one can step down the hole
@JasperJanssen3 жыл бұрын
The way the shower gets bigger around bum height is a fairly brilliant way to have a decent size without moving to a bigger, more expensive cubicle (and respecting the profile of the space). Seeing it fully complete now Ilike it even more than I did initially.

I think I would have welded that railing back on to cabin so you have same gap as before just further back and it would stop stepping over the side and landing in a heap at the bottom of the steps
@chazzyb86603 жыл бұрын
Yup, I was thinking that, and if you used the piece you took out - it would match. Then a nice piece of chain across the gap and H&E will be happy too.
@mrp19253 жыл бұрын
The same occurred to me as well, would have been safer when your kids are cruising with you.

James... keep that off cut, you could shorten the hand rail and weld it just behind the door giving you a nice doorway opening for when the cratch/bow cover gets fitted.💙👊😎

if you havent fitted the plastic edges to that movable glass, or even if so, suggest you tie it back or shut with plenty of gaffer tape for the lift. our boat if it rocks just a little on the cut and doors are not shut, they slam with alarming force. They do have magnetic plastic closing edges, but would not trust them to hold for a crane lift. Hope all goes swimmingly in the nicest way, and don't forget the bilge pump! Would that discarded post and rail fit next to the deepest part of the stairs so no-one steps off a mooring in the dark straight into the bottom of the steps?

Was thinking the exact same thing, as he wrenched it free. Obvious move, and he already has most of the parts required. Wonderhands the welder can have it on in two shakes of an electrode's tail. (Before he loses his sight, hearing, and all his fingers.)

Good luck with the launching James... Perhaps use removable treads or hinged ones to get access to the storage under the steps,, idea for ropes or lubes ect..And for safety perhaps reposition and weld on the removed handrail to the gunnels and rear of the bulkhead it will give something to hang onto when descending the stairs.

I remodelled the shower at my previous house. I placed the glass panel on the toe of my shoe so it didn’t break. Fate decided otherwise and it slipped off and shattered into thousands of pieces of safety glass. Try finding just the replacement part.......good job mate and holding thumbs everything goes well with the lift.

Looking forward to seeing her on the water. I'm presuming Paul removed that bit of angle iron from the bottom step (safety first)? To be honest, I'd add the extra railing and post where the steps start and end to prevent someone from stepping into the stairwell (Murphy's Law). ;-) It bugs me to see unused space (OCD I guess), so I'd like to see a way to access under the steps for storing little odds and ends. Maybe by placing bends to a sheet of 1/4 inch (1/8 inch?) aluminum, add some hinges and cut a hand hold then place your treads and risers onto it?

Seriously mate, are you sure you want a set of glass panels not fully secured, on a boat that could just about to have jolts/slips? I'm confident the lads in the yard are professionals but safe as opposed to sorry. At least tape some waste cardboard to all the edges. Removing duct tape glue from glass is so much easier than hoovering glass shards with a heavy heart. good luck, fingers, toes etc crossed for you🤞👍

I barely have enough room in here now without loads of ply hanging around. Ads. I don’t think I have any say over that or not.
