I have the same box and am unable to get DTS-HD sound through HDMI. All I get is PCM 5.1. using Kodi and Nova pass-thru. I read on the Kodi forum where somebody claimed that "even though AndroidTV 9 devices contain those same audio settings (Kodi), it only works on Rockchip devices, the Nvidia Shield and Ugoos X2/3 Cube devices. Amlogic didn't implement DTS-HD, True-HD, Dolby Atmos in their Android 9 SDK, Android source code so those settings can't link to the code and have no effect. Android 9 firmware doesn't support HD Audio passthrough so Kodi can't detect it. No Amlogic S905x/2/3 Android 9 device supports it except the X2/3 Cube devices where the manufacturer implemented it themselves." But you clearly were able to get DTS-HD from the HDMI. Weird I can't get the same results.

If you want DTS HD MA, DTS X, Dolby Atmos, and Dolby surround, true Kodi. In the settings area change from standard to expert by clicking on the word many times, then on audio channel set it to 5.1 or 7.1 depending on your receiver. Then scroll down and enable audio passthrough and all the DTS options below that. If you are not using Kodi I suggest you use the VLC player. In the settings area under audio settings and able to check box that says audio passthrough. The only surround sound formats you will not get is Dolby TrueHD.

We bought one of these though it will not play any video from within a web browser. I get the following error messages when using the Firefox, Chrome & Parrot browsers when trying to play video. "The media playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the media used features your browser did not support" Bitchute will also not play, it looks like the video is stuck trying to buffer, though the same video will play on a laptop with no issues. I've tried Bitslide but this also does not work Any ideas how to fix this problem?

It's called menu button. It has to be configured and you have to pay for the full version which is about five dollars. I had a tutorial on my website on how to set up, however my domain provider removed it from their servers due the its size and I accidentally deleted the original video for my hard drive. Rebooting randomly is a sign of CPU overheating which can lead to hardware failure. Adding a cooling fan below the box would stop this issue, however if the problem persists it means that the board had already begun to deteriorate.

Yes it's a common mistake that lots of people or technicians make when setting up your dual band router. In the Wi-Fi settings of your modem whether personal or provided by your ISP provider you should name the networks differently. For example you name one 2.4 GHz wireless, and the other 5 GHz wireless and you see in the settings. And when you are searching for in network on the box you connect to the one you so choose. The mistake occurs and inexperience technician give the both Wi-Fi bands the same name. This causes the TV box not to differentiate between which is the 2.4 and which is the 5 GHz. And what usually happens is that it always default to the 2.4 GHz band. I hope this answers your question.

I purchased one of these HK 1R boxes.. it shows extremely well with a good picture on every other app except discovery plus... on discovery +4 which I have a subscription, It shows a picture very much like an air screenshot. , with the video showing only in the middle in a very small picture with darkness on both side of my screen..... it looks very much like an air screen ...but I don’t know how to get rid of it of this I’ve deleted discovery plus I’ve reset the box many times but to no avail please help ......how do I get back a normal picture from discovery+ on my screen from using that HK1 R. box...

Disney plus requires a Google certified TV box, it also requires DRM level I with HD CP protection. And I believe it also requires Dolby vision. The HK1 is not a Google certified TV box, more than that it's not running android TV which facilitates the Google wide vine level I with HD CP 2.2 protection, also the box must not to be rooted. So to make a long story short Disney plus will install and run on the box but it does not have the digital management requirements and security for it to play in HD and 4K similar to Netflix and most premium streaming services.

Yes under device preferences you can search for the reset settings, or you can do a hard reset by pressing the reset button inside the AV port and then plug in the adapter holding it until the recovery screen appears. Then navigated with the stock remote and reset to factory defaults.

@@tvboxstop Oh I thought it's interesting to find out because from what I've seen, these tv boxes typically use a 5V 2A power supply which is in the realm of USB power source. This means that the TV box along with a portable monitor can be powered off a two port portable battery bank. If you run emulator on this, then the usb power makes even more sense for portable gaming and media consumption. All that's needed is a usb to DC plug cable. This is the reason why I asked. This is not a criticism to you review, which was done very well btw. If it's too much trouble I will just ask someone else. Thx.

Now most likely it's a defect in the box, you should have requested a replacement. It could also be a faulty Wi-Fi router, it happens. So first prove that it is a defective box, and you can purchase a USB Wi-Fi stick on Amazon and leave out the internal WiFi - Search on AMAzon for "BrosTrend 1200Mbps Linux USB Wireless Adapter" Or there are many other options. Once it works with Linix it would work with android. A special app "may" be required for it two work.

Open Chrome and install APKpure. Then open it and in the top hamburger menu go under updates and update the Google play store and any other Google updated available. If none is listed then it's already up to date. HK1 boxes have this issue as you will see in my next video. Also open Google play store and in the settings area under Google protect, see if there are any restricted apps and uninstall them. This restricted apps also pauses apps install.

That's the case for most Android TV boxes. Only brands like Beelink, Ugoos, and Magicsee have occasional updates.

Don't be too hard on yourself. It could be a fault with the box or power adapter. Sometimes storms or power outages can damage these boxes easily.

Install the aptoide app store. Searvh for Aptoide in chrome and install it. Open Aptoide an scroll down until you see Mobdro and install. Ignore ads and grant permissions where necessary
