Saw a video of a guy who built his own frame for his DeWalt DS kits to slide on/off the wall in his van. Might be expensive when all said and done but it was just too cool! Whenever he hsd to put something big in his van he could just pull out the DeWalt stuff and fold in the tabs out of the way. For HVAC guys who have to move condensers and such, it was a game changer IMHO. If Milwaukee could match that, I'd be totally sold!

My brother bought the Milwaukee. We played with it and found the hinges are really weak. Also the latches in the front are all plastic. In time, both of these points will fail. The aluminum bars in the front are practically useless because there is no "lip" at the bottom to hold something like a level. I think you failed to mention that the DeWalt on the right is completely waterproof, I use mine on canoe trips to keep food and supplies dry. And because they are water/airtight the valve on the top is a pressure relief valve just in case there is an air pressure differential (like working on a mountain and then driving down the valley), you open them to displace the air.

@bradbop7675 жыл бұрын
May i ask what is wrong with any milwaukee battery tools?
@lgbfjbsupporter55665 жыл бұрын
@@bradbop767 I had a bad experience with them many years ago. I bought a cordless drill and the problem ended up being the high/low speed selector was attached to the motor assembly with 2 very and mean very small roll pins. They would always work themselves loose and once they did there was nothing stopping the drill from switching between high/low or in my case it would always get stuck between high/low and render the drill useless. they warrantied it a few times and I finally got sick of taking it in so I started fixing it myself but it kept doing it. There was no good way to fix it long term since it was an obvious design flaw. Frustrated, I threw it away and never looked at milwaukee tools again especially any cordless tools. After watching the video I was liking the packout and went to the store but the starter kit shown is like $300 now not $199 So that was too steep for me especially since I will need many many more cases than the 3 the starter kit comes with and the Milwaukee system costs almost double for each future box. So I ended up buying toughsystem boxes, while not perfect its a good system and more reasonably priced. I watched several comparison videos and while both systems are built extremely tough. I will admit the packout beats the toughsystem when being dropped off a roof but in the real world my stuff will never be subjected to such extremes nor should anyones for obvious reasons. Never keep any heavy object like that if it fell off a roof or ledge with people below (which you should alway assume there are) could easily kill someone. As long as the boxes can withstand the daily riggers of loading and unloading and the occasional drop from 3-4 feet Im good. Its nice to know that it can handle much more but realistically if you need to worry about protecting your stuff from a multi story drop or getting run over you have no business operating power tools to begin with. Thats my .02 cents
@bradbop7675 жыл бұрын
@@lgbfjbsupporter5566 thats a perfectly valid reason lol. Im only 22 and have been investing in milwaukee for about 5 years now and have never had a problem, only ever invested in them after doing the research, and ive used many other drills like makita, dewalt and bosch and nothing feels like the milwaukee when it comes to smoothness and power. I dont know how many years back that your bad experience with milwaukee was but its funny how 2 people can have such a different experiences with the same tool line. Again not sure what tool you bought but ive always bough the best they had to offer, not sure if thats the difference here but i have a feeling it is. And are you from canada? Cause i think the guy who made this video is american because i paid 289 for my packout and that was on sale lol (im from toronto)
@lgbfjbsupporter55665 жыл бұрын
@@bradbop767 No im from usa and just priced the packout. it was 289 at the orange box. Not sure what model drill it was but it was a loooong time ago. However after opening it and seeing how badly it was designed turned me off. I will say it wasnt some cheap model at the time simply because thats not how I roll. I always buy quality stuff especially tools. Im sure milwaukee has improved over the years. However the packput was about double the cost for me and since I will probably be about 15 boxes when all said and done it wasnt justifiable to me. It looks like there might have been a bit of a pricing war between these systems awhile back and im sorry i missed that since the dewalt box was on special at HD for like $13 each yep that stinks i missed out on that. o'well

Jesse Barajas I can't say much on the milwaukee, due to only having them for a few months but they been great mostly use their m12 hacksaw, rocket light, m18 mid torque, and searchlight and haven't had any issues. None on the Dewalt have gave me any problems except for the dcf887 impact which trigger failed, I took it in and got it back same week fixed for free from dewalt it was the first ones the came out and never had an issue since, The new ones should be issue free. The other problem I had was I had 1 dewalt 2015 5.0 battery started acting up in 2017 took it in, guy at the desk took it placed it on a charger said nope! Turned around and handed me a brand new one in retail package for free, only asked for my name and some basic info took about 2 mins,. I was impressed. He didn't ask me for receipts, or where did I buy it. Some tool brands say lifetime warranty but ask you a bunch of questions and don't warranty their items if purchased in places like amazon. I like DeWalt's 3 year warranty. Other than that I've been trouble free

If the Dewalt DS allowed the boxes to slide out far enough to access without removing them, it would be perfect for shop use and storage as well.
@lgbfjbsupporter55665 жыл бұрын
my plan to overcome this issue is to build a cabinet with pull out shelves for the shop for each shelf will hold one DS box mostly DS130's in my case that way I can slide them out individually and access the contents without removing it. Full extension slides are cheap these days. Then if the need arises and I need to take the tools with me I can choose which tools I need that day and bring them along either on the cart or stacked together on my baker scaffold. The key is organizing the boxes for the task. Demo tools in one, plumbing tools in one , electrical in one, layout tools in one. you get the idea.

The milwaukee is nice but they should have made it black you don't want the world knowing you have tool box filled with expensive tools the red sticks oit loke sore thumb at least with black you notice it in the dark

Like the yellow on the other won't tell you it's DeWalt, especially not the huge yellow DeWalt logo displayed prominently on several surfaces...It wouldn't matter anyway, thieves know what they're looking at and when they see a stack of toolboxes like these, they know what's in them.

Dustin Talbott I rarely use the Milwaukee tools in the packout, I got a really good deal on them. I picked them up to try them but I perfer my dewalts tools, I probably be selling them soon, I mostly use those tools around the house here and there. Most of the tools I mostly use were in my trucks tool box and few in the ds carrier
