Milwaukee. I got tboned going 60mph by someone going 70. My milwaukee rolling box and med box were in the bed loose they flew 110 yards flipping and spinning. Rolling box wheel bent and slide handle broke but sevral hundred dollars worth of tools safe and sound box didnt come open or break or crack. Med box went just as far. All drills batteries were fine the handle cracked on the packout but still functions fine. Still waterproof and everything in it was safe still going strong. I on the other hand broke my humerous (upper arm) in 3 places ans now have a 12inch plate full of screws forever in my arm. But when i went back to work i bought another set of milwaukee packouts they take a beating and keep what i need to get the job done safe. So i cant argue with that abuse and how well they did. So until some thing can do better than that ill stick to what works.

I started with Dewalt Tough System about five years. It was good system to store tools at an affordable price. I could not justify paying for Milwaukee Packout just to hold my tools. Then Packout went on sale, I purchased a 3 piece set. I realized what I been missing. Packout is superior in strength, features, versatility, and Packout has more boxes, bags and accessories then Tough System, Systainers, Ridgid, and Bosch put together. Sorry Dewalt, but the Tough System just can't compete with Packout even the new 2.0.

I work in the film industry and got sick of carrying my husky bag by hand. The pack out caught my eye and I haven't looked back. Love the big wheeled box. I can have 3 things stacked on top and roll it down stairs, mud, sand....you name it. It has helped me get more done and be more efficient. Looks very professional compared to people that roll in with a bunch of milk crates bungeed together.

they literally come out on jobsites in milwaukee and have us tradesmen demo tools and otherwise comment on things before they send it off to china to be mass produced. hell they had a buddy of mine take an engineer up in a lift and show them how a lejeune gun works.
@localeightironworker
@localeightironworker 3 жыл бұрын
@Samuel Warner torque control bolts, the original manufacturer to my knowledge being the lejeune bolt company. Its basically a structural carriage bolt with a nipple on the end of the shank that snaps off when you reach the required torque. Personally i hate those bolts, i like to rattle the iron tight with an impact, but if your steel manufacturer is good, and the fitment is good, lejeune bolts are very fast and look nice for the fireproofers to spray over. The lejeune gun itself is a special gun that snaps the nipples off the bolts as it torques them.

I like on the Milwaukee packout the large box with the wheels if you look under the lid you'll see a few small screw holes those fit perfectly for the battery charger so when you open the lid you can leave your battery charger safely Inside the Box instead of plugging it in somewhere where someone could steal it

Both have pros and cons. I love the drawer systems and dewalt started that. I use all drawers cause I like to stack and keep stacked. Being organized saves time but pulling apart containers to get to other containers is a huge waste of time. Sometimes you're in a tight area and have to stay stacked high. We stack 6 or 7 drawers high and each one is marked with what's in them so you just pull drawers grab what you need and go. It also keeps you from bending over for each tool.

I love my packout system. The only beef I have with it: Milwaukee should’ve sized the drawer width up in the 2 and 3 drawer packouts to better accommodate their tools. Their m18 fuel grinder, m18 grease gun, and m18 fuel sawzall BARELY fit in the drawers, and they take up so much real estate in one drawer that it’s impossible to get more than just that given tool in the box. 1.5 inches wider and both the sawzall and grinder would fit perfectly in the same drawer

I’m new this year to Milwaukee tools beyond the drill/impact driver set I bought 3 years ago. This year due to circumstances l couldn’t control, I found a need to purchase a few more cordless tools and extensive research led me to more Milwaukee tools. Last week I found the Packout base cart box on sale (40% off) and decided to grab it and figured I would use it and stack my tool bags on it to make jobsite tool transfer easier. I liked that cart box so much, that I also grabbed the 22” box and the front door box as well. Got em both at another really good sale and in total, saved $155 between the 3 units. I’m impressed by the strength,versatility and storage capacity of them and will be on the lookout for other deals on more Packout cases because I absolutely can’t stand any of the other brand’s systems with their limitations and lack of ingenuity. I’ve never been stuck on any particular brand before, but this year I have become a Milwaukee guy, because every one of the (now) 14 tools and 3 packout cases I’ve purchased, has exceeded my very critical expectations. No offence to DeWalt guys, but Milwaukee is just better. Full stop.

Thank you for your enlighting clips! Personally, and for my needs at an apartment home, I ended up buying the DEWALT TSTAK Tool Storage Organizer system. Yes it's not as big as those you're showing, but after looking around thoroughly, I ended up buying the TSTACK system for three main reasons : 1) Its size - compact but still roomy, having a width of about 17 + 1/2 inch it would perfectly fit along the depth of my closet; 2) Choices of different storage box for custom system configurations - I bought one deep drawer, and another element with two drawers (yes, *_drawers_* with sliding rails and that can be locked in place so that they don't inadvertently open, are super practical in such stacking system, as there's no need to unstack them boxes for some top access) ; the top storage is a standard tool chest (designed along the kit) and has a large and tall handle - another model has a standard handle ; the bottom storage is a deep chest. Both the deep and standard chests have a storage tray inside, and the drawers have dividers/containers. 3) in order to move the system around, there are three choices : stacked together, they can be carried using the large handle on the top storage (there's also a standard storage chest without large handle, only a standard one). For moving the stack around without effort, we have the choice between a 4-wheel cart with breaks (the top storage handle would be used), or a trolley with its own handle (the top storage doesn't need to have a large handle). I bought the 4-wheel cart.

I work at a big box store where we sell both brands. I am also a gadget "nut" by heredity so, when I saw the Milwaukee had an interesting latching/slide connection I had to investigate it further. I'd have to say that IMO it would come in handy when cleaning up carriers in a hurry, but the front circular unlock mechanism is a bit of a struggle when trying to un-connect boxes (especially if filled with heavy tools). While watching you video I was thinking up ways to demonstrate the handle feature side b side in stores. Milwaukee has come up with a tool box innovation that has changed toolboxes for generations. Think about it how many times do those lid latches break off??? Now that tool box became useless to you, because of the reason you showed us.

I have all four. Started with RIGID, they were the 1st up to bat but always overlooked due to bias... Then DeWalt 1.0 and 2.0 and Milwaukee Pack Out. They all have their pros and cons and when I organize tools it is by the type of work. For the most rugged (concrete, masonry, iron work) I go with DeWalt. Yes, their hand truck is the best. For plumbing it is Rigid. Rigid was known for their tools back in the day (50's and 60's) so I just continue with that nod to better days. Milwaukee came a little late to the show but with some really kick-butt features which in hindsight, if they had come on strong earlier on, I would probably have a lot more of them. I think that the DeWalt CEO moving to Milwaukee gave them a clean palate to start from his experience with DeWalt. I keep a lot of my carpentry and electrical tools in the Pack Out. Good reviews, keep the competition up and we all benefit from better tools in the long run!

I like the ability to lock the system with padlocks or cables as well as the multitude of different options for site, vehicle or shop(mounting brackets). well thought out, but like anything there is room for improvement(wheels/cart/etc). 5:44 Dropping a “parts box/organizer” and having everything spill out, is up there with being FRUSTRATING and “having a bad minute or two”. Especially since ya know, “small parts” end up GOING EVERYWHERE across a floor! Definitely sucks when it happens (& it does); & is also why we have several “pickup magnets” for such a thing. Than what we do for the “non magnetic” pieces....funny as it may sound, but have pantyhose that we connect to intake on shop vac and suck all those parts up; right inside the panty hose(if really in hurry, will just suck everything up w/ shop vac and pantyhose and sort it out L8R). That way we can sort & reorganize everything back at shop and not on jobsite taking up time; cuz “paying” the tab for missed sales is not making [Us] money🤪 It’s those “little” things like this on a product that “makes” them even better, imo👍🏻 To answer the question....I’ve got more Packout now than I do DeWalt TSTAK, or Tough System now. Packout sure is expensive, but do like the mods they have ppl are doing/making for them, and durability & “details” that they offer. Besides, VCG Fam don’t pay full price for Packout (or tools), we grab those DEALS! Thx Vince for the vid, and have a good one VCG FAM✌🏻

Im investing in the Milwaukee packout because i have literally every tool a decent semi-truck repair shop has stuffed under my bunk, in cabinets on my top bunk bed tools shoved literally everywhere and with the packout i believe i can fit the larger crates under my bunk and the smaller kits (electrical, airline fittings, glad hand seals, bolts, nuts, washers, etc can remain all in one cabinet i need to fit alot of stuff into the smallest cm3 area possible so Milwaukee is about the only way to go along with the modular design i can take what i need and roll it to another drivers truck so i can help him without making 4 trips across a parking lot lol

For me its packout or back out, Milwaukee just has the superior storage system, tools its whatever works best for the user, and by far packout is more reliable, innovative, and convenient.

I have little room in my garage and two left hands, but that doesn’t stop me from needing tools and I decided to go full Milwaukee when I needed a toolbox. The pack out is simply genius. Their tools are fantastic save for one: the backpack sprayer.

Milwaukee!! I have used and still use Dewalt products (some are great) but when it comes to storage solutions Milwaukee takes the win and Dewalt is just second best.

If you are a pro, making your living with these boxes, the price difference is trivial, utterly unimportant. If you take the price out of the equation, I don't believe there is any question which system is better and more productive.

I’ve tried them all But keep going back too my Milwaukee tool bag for my power tools and Kline tote bag for hand tools I do service work as a electrician, plumber and HVAC that’s what our company does. I try and learn all of them! I do like that medium Milwaukee box and the Ridged medium box. Good stuff Vince

I used to turn my nose up at packout mostly due to price. After trying a couple of the organizers for a while though, I ditched my rigid stack and re thought how I oregano my stack. Now I have a half stack organizer half stack tote and the vacuum for my EDC all on the compact dolly. I ditched the base unit to save room in my Nissan juke, and just line my back floor boards with my power tools. There's a deep organizer and a compact organizer I leave in the car for my parts stock. This combined with a back seat delete allows me to carry 14,000' of ethernet cable along with all my tools, bam! 75 runs in the ceiling on day 1 by my self! An added bonus is I'm not banging a huge stack into walls trying to get to my work area!

I'm on the Festool system, it was around before Milwaukee packout. It's very space efficient and fits together a lot more easily than the competition. But Milwaukee is more rugged and has bigger footprint boxes. GC should go for Milwaukee, but more fine trades are better off with Festool/Thanos/makita boxes.

I love my new packout system. But found out a flaw with the handle system this weekend. If you have the handle down and then put anything on top of it, you are unable to use the handle. I had the handle down, placed a slim packout for drill bits, and then you are unable to lift the handle up. I had to take everything off the top, lift the handle, put everything back on, then I could carry. When I got to the job site. Take everything off the top, then put the handle down, put everything back on top. It’s only easy take and go with nothing on top.

LOL Rigid 1.0 I've been using them for well over 5 years now and they are still going strong. I do have one set of the Packout i got on sale. But i have 3 plus sets of the rigid boxes. They absolutely don't have the features of the Packout but they just keep going so I keep using them. But that is a great feature, I've done the screws all over the floor, and it is a pain to get them reorganized and time consuming.

We used to have this mechanism, which is fairly simple, on our camping cooling boxes in the 1960s already and I asked myself, why I had to refill my toolboxes so often due to the lack of this simple feature. 🤣 Finally they've got it.

I like your reviews the best because your realistic and put different scenarios. You give brands a fair chance and comparisons. Your 1000% right depending on what your working on will give you an idea what system or brand is right for you. Im running ryobis 18v platform with about 20 tools but also I have Milwaukee 12v tools also. Its plenty for me as a DIY and general residential repairs. At the moment im doing a full remodel and buying new tools I need.

I had them all for my husbands work and now he has a complete system, in fact he has almost 3 full towers for most all his tools for his business now. I'm happy I got them for his organization. Thanks for all your insight Vince
