I have a customer with a failed internal tcm ground. Checked harness ground is good. Attached wire from harness to case. Has communication now. Initial complaint was a 3000 rpm idle. Tested by putting a jumper wire to the tcm case to body ground, and faults disappeared😊

Man I wish I could understand this lol. How do you know which wire to disconnect from the harness? And what case?

Really? What kind of car? Did her n codes come off immediately? Or did she have to drive it a bit?

I would recommend after cleaning them spray them with silicone or battery and terminal protectant to keep them from corroding again that’s what I did with mine

I have had this same issue, What we found . Was their was a short in the o2 sensor . So look for a short if you continue to have this issue 07 cobalt lt

Don’t ground it on the TCM will blow circuit and cause more problems just learned that about 20min ago

my SS isn't getting power to the starter wire and I'm thinking part of it could be one of the grounds? I've cleaned and assembled them all. No starter click or starter relay slick, swapped and tested all fuses and relays and I'm at a lost. I fixed the TCM issue but still no crank etc

I have been dealing with this myself. Back in January I changed the Vss and that fixed it then. However it is back now again I have cleaned all the grounds,checked fuses etc. The tcm does not look fried so I am kinda stuck

Your best bet my friend is to order a new TCM computer. It's real easy to install by yourself.

Having this same issue with my 2014 Chevy Malibu. Same code U0101. Dealerships says I need a new transmission but I call BS because the TCM connection keeps going in an out.

Does replacing the tcm a useful solution? Mines doesn’t look bad but I’ve tried grounding the wires and still nothing

My wires to the tcm connector are fucked up and causing errors with mine I replaced the tcm and it fucked up again within 4 months

I tried replacing TCM. Tried grounding hack. Same issue. Probably bad wires.

​@@dancoles1036Have you tried looking at the grounds that connect to the front of the trans? They get completely corroded and start throwing codes. I have an 09 Cobalt and this fixed my issue.
