Nice build! I like the layout. I’ve been seeing a lot of good with the Max4 too. What a powerful esc!

You can still run mechanical brakes and still have reverse.. i did it on my 5iveT.. (programed the remote to shut off ch3 with a button).. better operating temps and much better braking.. nice rig!!

Thanks! I would be curious to talk more about the setup for brakes and reverse. If you don’t mind message me on Facebook through Aaron’s hobby garage.

nice truck! I thought the max4 could handle only up to 600KV or less but looks like no problem

No issues yet. If anything changes I’ll post it here 👍

They put a lot of KV limits that don't really make sense. The Max 5 says the highest KV it can take on 8s is 1000KV, yet you can get it bundled with an 1100KV motor... I think it's more of a recommendation than anything else. Their ESCs are fairly flexible with KV limits as long as you're reasonable.

Aaron, I just built a 30DN DTT-7 and was curious if you have any advice regarding diff fluid weights? It came with a super thin oil in each diff and I decided to try 50K in the center with 30K front and rear. This still seems really thin to me as most of my Arrma/Traxxas bashers run a much thicker fluid. This thing still rips around like crazy on a Max 5 with the 1100Kv motor (800Kv on order), but I'm sure the fluids should be thicker. Thank you in advance for any tips you may offer.
@aaronshobbygarage2338 Жыл бұрын
Hi David, congrats on your new build! I run 100k/1m/60k. I feel the 1m distributes the power nicely to the f/r, you can also use silicon ear plugs if you want it even more “locked”. The 100k pulls the truck in the direction I want and the 60k rear allows the wheels just even give to turn nicely. I’m sure others run different oils than me but this is what I have learned to like. Let me know how it goes 😎

@@aaronshobbygarage2338 did you happen to run the Hobbywing 1100Kv as well as the 800Kv in your 5T or other large buggies? If so, do you have a preference?

@@aaronshobbygarage2338 my 30DN truck is 36lbs with two 9000mah batteries and I think the 800Kv will have an easier time hauling it around as we get into the summer temps. I guess I'll just have to find something else to put the 1100Kv in;-)

The battery trays I purchased from amain hobby by extreme racing. (I did have to do drilling and counter sink to get the rear battery tray where I wanted it) The motor mount is the bl5 from Ddm but I would recommend the wfo mount and the esc tray I made.

Hello, I like it for a few different reasons but mainly it runs cooler and I’m not pushing the system. I could gear up if I wanted to but I like the performance I’m getting with a 15t pinion gear. I use the castle xlx2 in my 5ive b and dbxle and really like that setup as well in a lighter setup. Thanks for the comment and view!
