During this webinar session, Dr. Mar Cóndor discussed her work on integrating microelectrode arrays into in-vitro organ-on-chip platforms. Mar Cóndor is Technical Project Lead for Organ-On-Chip Research at Life Sciences Technologies division in Imec since July 2022. Prior to Imec, she was Senior Scientist at the Biomechanics section at KU Leuven, with a research focus on mechanobiology during Angiogenesis processes. She also contributed internationally to the cancer research as a postdoc at FAU University and at Karolinska Hospital. She received her PhD. in Biomedical Engineering from University of Zaragoza and Polytechnic de Catalunya.
Then, Max Wolf presented his work on combinatorial high-throughput organoid screens for personalized medicine. Max obtained his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Eindhoven in 2021. After that, he started his phD at the KU Leuven in the Biomimetics and Biosensors group of the MeBioS departement. His phD project focusses on microfluidic methods for the integration of organoid screens for personalized medicine.
The RE-Place Educational Webinars are organized to promote the use and development of New Approach Methodologies in Belgium by putting the existing expertise in the spotlight. The Webinars are open to all interested parties including scientists, regulators, the authorities and the public.
