This will be supportive for most of the uses... but let me share my experience with such systems. even at the moment I am running a 450Ahr (150Ahr *3) system at my place. 1. main problem is with batteries: Normally we use Automotive batteries for these kind of systems and it is totally a failure in the long run.. Such batteries are designed only for spontaneous current requirements and not for continuous current drawing scenarios such as Off grid Solar. Since the DOD and No of Cycles in Automotive batteries are very limited and hence even you use with low Loads this will be ended up in few months. this is what i am also currently experiencing. Alternative is Deep Cycle or LFP batteries. but those are comparatively expensive and not available for domestic use. 2. limitation of AC/DC loads due to 12V use: Normally 12V use only for very very low requirements. if you need high power output such as Blender / Fridge / MicroWave / Elec. Kettle; this power will not be sufficient enough. for such systems you may upgrade your system to 24V, 48V or 96V levels. higher the voltage higher the efficiency too.. as well as low stresses on batteries. 3. Output Wave Pattern: Pure Sinusoidal wave pattern is the requirement. but normally offline UPSs are only designed with modified sine wave which can not be used for appliances other than having switchmode power supplies. Hence use cases are only limited to few appliances. 4. Battery Charging System: recommended charging mechanism is 0.1C for most of the battery types. hence once you have frequent black outs special attention to be given for the charging current. otherwise it will greatly reduce the charging cycles of the battery. I have listed few and key concerns while selecting and installing a off grid system. mainly you need to think about your investment against the loads that you are going to connect and for how long that you expect to use such system... Thanks Greetings from KP.
