I have raced plenty of muddy GNCCs as 90% of them are mudfest. When your bike starts to emit steam out of the radiator overflow tube then you need to stop until it cools down.

Great channel. I think your crank seal leaking diagnosis may be premature. There is gear oil on the stator side of these motors by design. It resides in the bath for the starter/Bendix. Possible the bike was laid over and some of it probably migrated up around the seal making it appear the seal was leaking. Oil on the crank is more than likely residual 2-stroke oil which is normal.

Thanks for checking out our channel! This bike got extremely hot! We have been racing the Beta brand since 2012 and have done a ton of hard enduro events/ Gncc stuff as well. We have never melted a bike like this. And truthfully for as HOT as it got the crank is in amazing condition and the piston wasn't even stuck to the cylinder! Hope your event went well! This is so timely. I raced Tough Like RORR and my 300 got really hot. Boiled off some coolant but I got moving again and no more issues. I checked everything like you did here but my bike def did not get this hot. Great video showing what can happen though. You are right, in the heat of the moment it’s hard to stop twisting the throttle.

@@sarahdell4042 oh nice me to. Smart carb and I’ve found if it is set to run a bit rich it keeps the bike cooler. Also, apparently they have new metering rods out that are a good upgrade for some bikes. Def need a fan for that type of riding. I rode Tough Like RORR last year without a fan and cooked the seals on the head. Won’t do that again. Burned coolant for a couple weeks before I figured it out. Would not have been able to tell by looking at them.

Beta recommends a small amount of oil on the Stator side, just enough to almost fill the starter gear valley, at least they did on a 2017 Xtrainer
@3SeasRecreation
@3SeasRecreation Жыл бұрын
Good Morning, Yep I agree. A small amount of oil will help the starter bendix long term. My only side note on this particular bike is that Beta does not do that from the factory and this bikes side cover has never been off.. So this oil came from somewhere else. Enjoy The Ride, Jared

@@3SeasRecreation Hi Jared. Page 88 of the 2023 Beta 250/300 service manual reads as follows: Pour about 7cc of gear oil (for specifications refer to the recommended lubricants and liquids table) in area A. This is referring to the starter gear area. Really enjoy the vids, keep them coming.

Yep I agree, but standard from the factory there isn't that much and I wish I could attach pictures here to show how much oil was on the shop floor when i pulled the cover.. I should of added another image in the video showing the amount that came out of the igntion cover side. Also, the crank case was full of oil as well... Anyways she got hot!
