I have tried several of these apps. My problem is that I like too many of them. For me, it has narrowed down to Apple Notes, which is easy to use, allows for easily collecting written and typed notes, photos, files and even web links. Of course, it blends well with IOS. You did a great job of laying out the ups and downs of each. Whichever is chosen, it is best to stay with that alone for a period of time until the features and navigating the app become second nature.

For notability, if you have had the app before they rolled out the subscription you are able to back up your nots on any device inked to the same account along side a few other premium features.

I personally love using four of the apps that were reviewed: GoodNotes, Notability, LiquidText and MarginNote. GoodNotes for hardcore note taking, notability to store all of my pdf’s from classes and power points, liquidtext for deep research, and margin note to study for exams. I also use Apple notes as a second brain.

I use Noteshelf after trying some weeks almost all the other options. I personnaly don’t work for free, and did purchase my iPad Pro at 800 USD, so I don’t mind paying some dollars per month/year to get it. And it totally sync with Evernote, which allow me to collect in one place everything. Thank you for the review, you’re missing I agree Notefull which is so powerful with the folder and tag classification options.

This video introduced me to Nebo, and I absolutely love it. Plus, it has one of the only handwriting-to-LaTeX converters that actually seems to work. Thanks for the video

i tried using Apple notes but after a certain point of notes it starts to lag. now im using onenotes pretty decent .easy to organize and make notes. as i barely store anything on onedrive also i guess they offer 365 for college email id . even if not, im pretty much okay with it.

Nebo was a blessing, i used to use apple notes but it is so limited, no darkmode, buggy… nebo is so smooth and has many features like ai chat for research, i never went back

Unfortunatly yes, You lose a bit of brightness, sharpness and color precision.

Guys go for onenote it’s best. Apple notes is good if your notes doesn’t contain too much pic. I have iPad , pixel and windows LT so for me one note is best for Cross platform features.

notability has a tape feature that i feel is really useful in active recall for me given that i find it time consuming to find time to make flashcards. however, I cannot affordthe monthly and yearly subscriptions as well as the pain of the limited usage of the free version. Hi all. Using a reMarkable and I'm done with it. Too many bugs. I simply want to write notes and put them in a folder structure. I needed a multilevel folder structure. I need this stored in the cloud and don't mind paying for that. Which app would you recommend.

i have problem with goodnotes. My stilus has no pressure sensor, only angle one, so in goodnotes all 3 pen look the same. Is it possible to use angle sensor instead of pressure sensor as basic apple notes do?

Angle sensors are used for pencils in Procreate or similar app, for writing you use pressure if anything

I’m looking for an app specifically for to do lists where i can hand write my list but they get put on a list where i can check them off and they disappear, or i can drag and rearrange them by priority. Would any of these have that capability or any apps that you know would??

If you're looking for a free solution, Apple Notes does that on a basic level. If you'd like to try a more premium solution, I love Evernote for this. And you can try it for free as well.

Sounds a little like Minimalist but without the handwriting part. I've used it for a while, it was better before that there were not as much premium features as today but still useful if you want to try it out

You cant do hand written notes in obsidian. You have to use a clunky excalidraw solution or export to pdf from another app

Imo i found one note very good for college, apple note is good too, but Microsoft 365 is the way to go for me, you can get discount with your college email, i think yearly subscription is 29.99$, I bought it with personal outlook email so 69.99$ for a year. 1TB of cloud storage plus all office apps with one subscription, made me chose this one. Now i take notes with ipad, record lectures speeches when needed, take pictures of white board and then attaching them to my notes. Try free version for a while, if it suits your needs, consider buying the office 365 if you take a lot of pictures and record lectures too much like me

I see that as soon as the teacher finishes underlining to attract students' focus and attention on the words being taught, the underline disappears. This way the lesson page is not cluttered with too many underlines.
