Games like these, that don’t offer a choice in difficulty modes, get a fair amount of attention for being difficult as is. It’s safe to say that it’s exactly how the developer wants the game to be played. But how many games out there that feature a choice in difficulty actually have a mode that’s favored by the developers as how they intend the game to be played? I’d argue that a perfect example of this is Fallout 4’s Survival Difficulty. Everything about the perks, to mechanics like Vertibirds and Settlements, falls into place.

I've clocked Elden, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne and Sekiro.. It's not the games that are hard.. it's getting into the right frame to beat them that is.. Once you get the right attitude, the difficulty melts away.. Elden Ring: Explore to make the game easier Dark Souls 3: Patience Bloodborne: Patience and grit Sekiro: You must take the fight to your opponent (hesitance is death) I'm playing Witcher 3 for the first time and also on Death March.. Really enjoying it though the Werewolve's are at the moment unbeatable lol (I'm level on 6). Death March forcing me to get gud and the trophy will also have value only due to the challenge

That good feeling after beating a difficult boss... It's completely abscent for me. I know, because I've tried. I only felt what a waste of time it was. Good list of games to avoid with other words.

I found Sekiro the hardest game to master with the most addictive combat ever. Easily in top 3 games ever played. I dont get it why Elden Ring and DS3 are in the list at all, because they were the easiest games of FromSoftware that even an unskilled game journalist could beat. They were fun though. Still hoping Bloodborn will come to pc at some point.
