Control also has some absolutely ingenious moments of comic relief. "🎶Then she walked in lookin' like dynamite..."

V Rising. That game was criminally underrated and deserves so much more attention.

I mean, who didn't expect Control and Alan Wake 2 to be good? And Gotham Knights disappointed to many people, weird choice for that list
@kryptomac101Ай бұрын
Actually, many people criticize Alan Wake 2 and are not enjoying it because of the great experience they had with the first game. However, I think if they give it a chance, they will surely enjoy it as well. Right now, I also have high hopes for the upcoming Silent Hill 2.

Death Stranding, no. I don't usually go on about "respecting the player's time," but that's exactly what I felt in this game. No surprise, it's all I expect from Kojima, who's a hack IMO. I got the game for fee on Epic, and that's all it was worth. I know it's supposed to get better, but I'm not willing to put in the time to find out. I also hate that actor, and that's a growing problem in video games; for some reason playing as someone I know that totally breaks the immersion. I'm always thinking that I have no relation to that guy and it's like looking into a mirror and not liking who you see. Give me generic video game characters whom I've never seen before, like the medium so easily supports no matter what the actor looks like.

I absolutely loved Life is Strange 2. Somehow I connected more with it's characters and story than the original game. Most people ignored it because they wanted more Max and Chloe. But it's a great game.

I loved Control Ultimate edition, it smoothed out any little niggles i with the performance of the base game. The oldest house is a unique place to explore & test your powers in plus the added Alan Wake stuff was icing on the cake. Days Gone was buggy at launch but once it was properly patched it was a joy to play, the world, it's characters & how they develop over the course of the story was great, such a shame they ended it with a cliffhanger they will never follow up on. Death Stranding the Directors Cut is the best way to play the game as with Control, it refined any rough edges with the base game. I went in thinking it wouldn't be my cup of tea but wound up loving the treking across the beautiful & sometimes stark environments, sure the story is typical of Kojima, equal parts grounded & bonkers but with characters you wouldn't find in other games, i look forward to DS2. Shadow of the Colossus is a game I loved on PS2, then the remaster on PS3, surpised you didn't Ico on your list, & finally the remake by Bluepoint on PS4, the game never fails to give you a sense of awe, originality. The world may be barren but it always makes your encounters with the Colossi that much more impactful & the bond with your horse, using your sword to guide you & the twist. I hope we see a game of it's ilk again. The Last Guardian spent too long in development that when it finally came out people who had played the studios previous offerings felt underwhelmed, it has charm & personality but lacks that something which makes it truly special. I loved Mad Max, the fact that the game came out not as a movie tie in but a game with it's own story & characters meant it was hampered, it was allowed to exist as a seperate entry. The world was sparse & desolate but in that world lost there was beauty. The storms in the game were great, the melee combat a more grounded version of the Arkham felt impactful, the car combat was great, building your car & upgrading it gave you a connection to it. The story was good & characters helped elevate it, good old chumbucket. Shame the servers were shut down & the Plat is no longer available. I enjoyed Dead Island 2 far more than I expected to, it was smart to separate the world into areas as it allowed more detail with characters who felt fleshed out just enough, different zombie variations kept you on your toes & the sheer variety of weapons you could use in combination with the dismemberment variations felt hard hitting & well earned when you pulled off something special. I have played all of the Life Is Strange games, part 2 was slept on by many but it was a good story with fleshed pit characters dealing with tough choices much like part 1, I also loved True Colours as it was opened up in terms of where you could go even if you were in a small mountain town, it allowed a little more freedom to choose how you wanted to approach things. I look forward to Double Exposure with Max back in the fray with new powers. Nice list again man, great games in the bunch & a few i will check out.

They're making Control 2 so we should get some answers. Remedy bought all the rights from the publisher a couple years ago and went into pre-production in 2022 so although it's probably a couple years away at least it's coming They (Remedy) are also working on a multiplayer Control Spin off and remaking Max Payne 1 and 2 which is also in the Control/Alan Wake Universe

@bigrick3267 I can only imagine the gunplay & particularly the particle effects of destruction will be a sight to see, I wonder if Sam Lake will insert his likeness for Max once again as he did more recently in Alan Wake 2. I am glad Remedy has many projects to work with as they are talented developer with unique takes. I am very much looking forward to their next project.
