[7:42] Yes , it can be written that way too *"a + (-6b)"* as mentioned *"again"* at *"**8:49**"* *" a "subtraction (minus)" is also the same as an "addition" of a "negative number" "*

what if i have 6g + 8 - 3g - 2 where the like terms arnt next to each other

It doesn't really matter if the like terms aren't next to each other as long as you can identify them and calculate them whether subtraction multiplication or addition etc with the correct sign you'll get the right answer (hope this helps)
