No suction cup will hold onto a embossed plastic dashboard, you gotta use a piece of plexiglass held down by velcro to make it stick. I know from experience.

Problem with a dog poking their head out of a window while you are driving down the road is road debris hitting their eyes. Just ask any dog optometrist (and yes there are many). If you thing there is nothing flying through the air then why does your windshield get pitted; sure not while it is sitting in the car. Console safes are NOT new. Had on in my 2003 Jeep Wrangler installed in 2003, Imagine that.
