We live in a similar growing zone. You're probably aware that several of the trees you're growing can reach 30 feet or more in height as well as becoming very bushy with spread out branches. Several trees you have in planters will need to be transplanted into the ground. It seems that your neighbor might enjoy some of the fruits of your labor. Consider transplanting the pomegranate tree further from your boundary wall. Where we live, fruit bats and insects devour mangos if not wrapped in newspaper. Your pool looks lovely. And, wow, you have a spouse who is willing to venture into the garden to help. I wish my wife would do that. You've got a keeper!

I am in zone 10 B in Arizona and just planted a pomegranate and grapefruit in old metal file cabinets I converted to planters. I found some really big ones, so super excited. You’ve inspired me to find more different types of fruits. I was hoping to see a plum tree, but nectarine is close 2nd. WOW didnt know Avocados work in 10b heat. Good to know! Keep planting!

I got a cherimoya from the farmer's market 12 years ago, I planted them, and it took 11 years for it to fruit. I learned they need to be hand pollinated so last year my husband started hand pollinated and we got fruit. I am impressed you got fruits that short of time. I bet you have top hand pollinate too...

@jtf267 you could try a fig tree in a pot (at least 10ga), a Smith, Violette de Bordeaux, Bourjasotte Grise might work there.

Hey…this looks a lot like our garden, though we are a number of years behind in growth (our pomegranate tree is only hip high). Really encouraging to see some I have, and some I would like to have, doing so well for you. I have lived in other homes with full grown trees, and they put out a ridiculous amount of fruits.

Beautiful back yard, nicely done! If you're in California, you should consider getting some fig trees (Panache, Bordissot Negra Rimada are beautiful and great tasting).

Awesome fruit trees... Nice selections. What did you use in the planting hole of your mango? Not sure if I missed if you stated what type of mango tree yours is. Mine is a Champagne Manila Mango, but its been struggling.
@p-treegardening8366
@p-treegardening8366 Жыл бұрын
Hi friend.. I planted my tree with only the native soil in the ground, but I do add compost to the top..It is a Manila mango. Mines took more than a few years to gain strength and start producing. So hang in there!
@onortosu
@onortosu 11 ай бұрын
Mangoes don't like having anything but native soil around their roots, especially when they're young. If you put compost in their planting hole the roots can die or just fail to thrive for a long time. They especially don't need a lot of nitrogen, very gentle with nitrogen. Smaller doses of Potassium, Iron, Magnesium and other trace minerals are good.

Your moringa tree is planted too close the the house. It will mess up your foundation when it gets bigger.

Where did you get your persimmon tree from? I’ve looked online for some but they give be the apple shaped variety and i find that they have a horrible horrible taste. Haven’t found any reputable nurseries out here in LA either. I have more searching to do tho.
