Eustoma There's somebody for everyone. You don't have to be married but you should definitely have a best friend. That you can have sex with. My friend used to always say she was never having kids or getting married. Now we are all older amd our kids are grown. She never did have any. When we all go shopping together or on little getaways she is always sad that she doesn't have anybody. She always says she wonders who will care for her because I know she sees the rest of us and the way our children surprise us at work with flowers or send little quirky gifts just because. She has finally come to the realization that her selfishness was a grave miscalculation that she can't undo.

This movie came out when I was only 8 years old & in the 2nd grade (2004). I remember feeling so excited about growing up, graduating as class of 2014 from HS, & just being an adult/living life. I always remember my babysitter even telling us, "That's going to be you guys in 10 years. But don't worry, 10 years is a long ways away. Don’t rush growing up.” I recall watching this in theaters like it was yesterday. But now here I am at barely 20 years old (almost 12 years later) realizing how fast time flies. I (being a child) didn't really grasp the concept of this movie/life, until now. Life is all about those limited/precious moments you won’t ever get to relive. Valuable moments that you’ll only get to experience once, w/ loved ones who don’t always get to stay around.

Omg, are we twins?! Because this is EXACTLY my story and how I feel looking back at this movie and remembering watching it for the first time as a kid compared to now as a college kid. I even just did the math that I was 8 yrs old myself when I first saw it in theaters literally a few minutes ago. Even crazier: I was Class of 2014 in high school AND my name is Elizabeth Lauren which is eerily close to yours. Omg... mind blown. Too cool to have someone take the words out of my mouth of what I've been thinking growing up with this movie & be so alike me at the same time.

It's so crazy to think that the kids who originally first watched this movie when they themselves were 13 are now almost 30 themselves (around 26 rn). I wonder how they see this movie when they rewatch it now compared to when they were younger. It probably touches way too close to home for them more than anyone else lol. But wow is it that much more heartwrenching and meaningful watching it when you become a young adult. The train scene and her visit back to her childhood home especially gets me now that I have an idea of what that feels like. In fact, I just rode a train from home back to my college town just last night and as much as I'd like it to, it seems to never get easier having to say good-bye to your loved ones and hometown. I still cry every time I or my family has to leave even though I now know that before I know it, I'll [hopefully] see them again. The week before I left home for my freshman yr of college a few years ago, I ironically happened to rewatch this movie on Netflix and man did it hit hard. I of course wasn't expecting it since those messages from the movie are harder for kids to understand before they start growing up so I forgot that there was so much more to the movie than just a love story. And then I was masochistic and would rewatch the scenes over and over and just bawl. That was my way of coping with the transition of being on my own and giving up my childhood lol... it's of course still hard for me when it comes to good-byes, but it's definitely better than it first was [luckily]. Still can't help but shed at least one tear during this movie tho...

@@GraanvlokI love this question! When I was 13, I viewed things much the way young Jenna does. I wanted to be older, sophisticated. I was tired of being a kid - a kid who could only do kid things. I wanted to be a grownup. And now, at 31, I see things as adult Jenna does. I want to turn back the hands of time. Being an adult is terribly overrated - a fact of life that we will never understand until it’s too late and we’re already grown. Unlike Jenna (thankfully), it didn’t take me burning down every bridge around me before realizing what really matters in life. Family, true friends - if you’ve got that, you have everything. 🙏❤️
