I have seen both The Office (multiple times) and this movie and I had no problem whatsoever with Krasinski's perfomance (really good too). I noticed the problem of seeing an actor as the character they portrayed in the past is more consistent in American audiences. Perhaps because entertainment is so ingrained in American culture, they have a hard time separating reality from fiction?

I love how you can see wear on the finish of the sig. It's a small detail that clues the audience in on just how long these guys have been doing this. It's also a subtle hint of the wear on jack. speaking as a weapons tech it could also speak to a supply system. Many of the weapons that get sent out of my shop look like this as while they may be new to the operator or soldier that draws them, they've been in the supply system (in some cases ) since the Truman administration (for you Americans). Most guns are a LOT older than people think often just being refurbished and sometimes re-blued before being issued back out. I have absolutely no idea where I was going with this but it felt right at the time
