I think people are missing the point of this movie. It's not trying to push boundaries or be this amazing cinematic master piece. It's an action comedy, similar to the A-team in my opinion. I like the actors, every interview I saw made it seem like they had a blast making the movie. Is it going to win awards? no, but it's just a good movie, not everything is a masterpiece or something for critiques to enjoy. It's meant to be an enjoyable watch and then you move on. You don't like it? fine, but don't bash a movie because it doesn't try to be more than it is, a simple bit of fun for some people.

What they have done with this is amalgamated a lot of true stories from different operators in WW2 and put them into a handful of characters. Mad Jack Churchill did, in fact carry a long bow, some bagpipes, a Scottish claymore, and wore a kilt at all times. He killed Germans with both the sword and the bow and his lads hearing with the bag pipes. On D Day, he is pictured walking up the beach under heavy enemy fire, wearing a kilt blowing his bagpipes and carrying a claymore. The SAS did more mad stuff than you can believe. They genuinely destroyed more planes and killed more luftwaffe and Italian pilots than the allied airforce . They stole a train behind enemy lines, filled it with POWs, and drove back over 100m to allied lines. They jumped into central France to help the resistance and actually annihilated the pro nazi sympathisers and held down a battalion of Waffen SS for months. If you read some speacial operation history of WW2 from 41 to 45, they were literally bang at it. Last. British troops are the masters of humour. The worse the conditions the more they laugh because complaining want solve anything. So this film is based on some solid facts, including the weapons and mindset, just all condensed into a handful of people.

@@michaeldoolan7595imagine believing that a handful of people took down entire troops. Yess there really were some crazy brave soldiers back then on all sides but reality is that the propaganda made everyone of their own believe that their heros were that crazy. There were badass soldiers from the british, american, french and german forces all along throughout the war. But none were near as "badass" as you described. Even if they were badass since they gave their life for their freedom and father land

Wow, amazing use of "Schoolb bus" by Schifrin from "Dirty Harry", was really surprising and awesome to suddenly hear that.
