This was a really, really, cool video for a lot of reasons! First it shows you what John's been talking about all along, how treacherous, and how full of it, a lot of guys in the life really were. From that ridiculous show of rusted pistols and old pbk's, to the confidence level going out the window as soon as they found out that Gallo was a big earner in his own right. It really must be an eye-opener for many who leave the life, and look backwards with 20/20 hindsight as to how, what, and why, the life was the way it really was. This reminds me of the journey that many including myself have gone through in the religious world, where we've actually found out the truth about many of the lies that were fed into us since we were babies! You have to redo your whole thought process, and rewire your whole original form of thinking about how one originally thought things were. Very insightful podcast guys! Keep up the great work!💯

@@jimmymcgill8412 that's not true. The L.A. family was still active up until the 90s, it was very small but still was an active crime family. Look up Peter & Carmine Milano, Jimmy Caci. Mostly guys from Buffalo also some Cleveland & NYC guys. The L.A. Family was heavily involved in the porn industry in the 80s 90s also. that's why it's interesting because most people didn't know it existed. Gene Borrello which captain was worth $30 million? Vinny Asaro? If so, what happened because it sounds like he’s dead broke now. Was he not a disciplined guy or what? Having a guy’s car torched over something very minor seems childish for a man in his position.
@jimmymcgill84124 жыл бұрын
123456 OK. Makes more sense than Vinny having that kind of money. Asaro sounds like a degenerate gambler. 30 million seems like a big stretch for a captain in this era. I know Ronnie had that big house, but if he had anything close to 30 million, I think the greedy government would take it all. He had to sell his house and pay restitution of like $1.25 million. Maybe he hid the money well, but I just can’t imagine that kind of $ from bookmaking, loan sharking, & robbery.

Kenji how do you live with yourself after "flipping"? Just wondering how a man that knew what the consequences were and are I mean thats what you signed up for. There are rules and the codes of the streets or in whatever you do. I mean say you get popped for drug dealing some of shit carries some crazy time then what you "cant do your time" and just worry about yourself and be a man but instead cooperate and take the whole boat down with you. Then You just walk away after all is said and done. Man I could not live with myself after that. I rather man up and deal with what I was charged with and do the time as I have done. I dont know how some people think Im going to be a bad ass mofioso or gangster "but" when the shit gets thick and instead of doing your time for shit you did You give up other guys doing the same shit you were and are doing. The difference is they didn't get caught red handed yet they are suspected but not yet cought so to walk to turn on the others unreal. Guess people are just to selfish and have no idea of manning up means anymore. How do you look at yourself in a mirror? Oh and then how do you tell all these stupid stories oh back in the day?
