Chazm who was one best wrecking balls in Overwatch when asked for advice on how to rise in the ranks, he simply said “Kill more, die less”. He said that’s the difference between high ranking people and the lower ranks. It seemed so flippant when he said it, but at its essence he is right. The beauty of Coach Mills channel is that he gives you tips, clues, pointers, advice, common pitfalls, things to avoid, things to try to improve on so there is more nuance and context to “Kill more, die less”. Some people are naturally talented at a skill but they lack the ability to articulate how to hone that skill.

Off topic, but discovered that Namor ult absolutely nulifies Jeff and makes him totally useless. Its so satisfying. Just shift up in the air when you hear it, and use your ult the moment you see the circle appear. Pops that ass hole out and often kills him.

After watching a good bit of Top 500/Tournament videos, I understand why Magneto/Dr.Strange/Mantis/Luna Snow/Winter Soldier are considered 'Meta' and played most at high rank games... Because every team plays the objective the same exact way: Nobody seperates, No one is far from heals, Strange and Magneto are more effective at blocking damage and ults, Luna and Mantis are more effective at supplying heals. Now you might be wondering how a team gains the advantage over another when teams play like this. Well thats where Winter Soldier, and at times, Wolverine come into the picture. Winter Soldier and Wolverine have "Abduction" CD's in their kit. The idea, and what is attempted by all teams involved is to have these characters "Abduct" an enemy to their side an completely annihilate the singled out enemy player. With the exception of when ULTS come into play, this is how majority of all games played at the high end are being played.

what I learned is dont play ranked beyond 10pm, its fckn cursed. I had 10 lose streak once and today I got 12(I tried to break the curse) from dia 2 to plat 2. DOESNT MATTER HOW GOOD THE GAME IS, it somehow ends up on lose its sooooo odd.

Honestly, one legit tip I can give is if you're on a lose streak, get off the game. You might be the calmest, chillest dude in the world but if you keep insta queueing after every match, you don't get to absorb what happened. You don't get to learn from your mistakes or you don't get to internalize how you lost. You end up thinking "it's always my teammates" fault coz before you think of what actually happened in the match you just go again. And ofc no one is so chill that tilt never gets to em. After a 4 or 5 game lose streak, you're most likely on tilt already. You're angsty, on edge, and more likely to overextend/tunnel vision. No need to "break curses", man. Each game is a different scenario, they're not connected. Take the L and watch some youtube for a while. If your heroes have respawn timers, you should give yourself tilt timers too.

Also hate to say it i had some people in dps that shouldn't have been in that role. I tried to help by picking my own dps for two rounds and out damaged and killed compared to them. Almost won, but dps that get no kills forces you to compensate.

As a healer main, tip 3 speaks to me. Screaming when my tank pushes forward aggressively by himself and having to choose between letting him die or trying to save him and probably dying myself is the least fun part of the game. Well, second least fun part, after seeing 4 mediocre dps on my team.

I feel that mediocre player aspect of being a Cloak and Dagger main. Have lost so many games where I end up SVP healing my ass off, making plays, killing enemy healers, etc, etc, and then we just lose because the subpar dps have no idea what they are doing. Don't even understand what they are doing in diamond. Or when someone says "heal diff" because they aren't being healed when going off on their own as punisher while there's both a spiderman and venom on the other team. Don't understand how they get to diamond without even imagining that they would get more heals if they stood next to the healers and killed the spiderman/venom that will innevitable dive them. I usually have to kill spidermans myself while keeping the co healer alive.

Definitely just exhausted his tips and others. At some point, there is no more new advice. Just reframing old advice for the algorithm and a new audience. You need to take these tips, practice and if you have a few heroes like he said, watch how pros play them. At some point, it’s just about the grind!

im new to MR and hero shooters. i got to silver 3 on my own by playing mantis but im finding there's certain games where my ENTIRE team is losing and my ENTIRE team diesn't do anything and my ENTIRE team doesn't know what to do. sometimes I notice that I can switch from support to dps to win a few more coin flips, because healing a bronze hawkeye is useless when I'm trying to break out of the gate; but other games my entire team gets bullied into the spawn point and i dont know what to do. I feel like I need one or two people on my team to be doing okay before i can get any value on my own, is it normal for me to feel this way?

Solo queuing as a healer is probably the hardest role in the game to solo queue as. You literally get less rr when you win than your dps and tank players. If you want to main healer, I suggest playing rocket if your teammate can play mantis or luna or if you have to solo heal which can happen in that elo. If you get good with his movement, you'll die way less because of his mobility, so you can heal much more. He's also very good if your teammates don't turn around and help you if you get dove as you can dash away or climb on the wall. You can also avoid many ults with that too. If you don't want to main support, I'd suggest trying Hulk or Iron Man (if you prefer dps) and requesting someone to play one of the heroes for the team up. You'll win pretty much every game in that elo with that combo.

I've had games where I am basically solo healing with 50k+ healing, so it's pretty infuriating to see nobody else doing anything useful. The heals are covered, freaking kill something or at least keep me alive.

Best tip ever: COUNTERSWAP IN GAME WHEN YOU NEED TO!!! There is zero penalty below fifty-percent ult cooldown. Seriously, do it. So many players get absolutely violated, go with the exact same characters again, and they get angry because they don't realize they've accidentally stumbled into a comp they don't deal with well. Then, they proceed to bash their heads against a team that's tearing them to shreds instead of thinking beyond what they can do with the comp they have. Part of the game is synergy and stopping the other team's synergy. If you notice a team is diving a lot and killing your supports, switch to a character that blocks divers off like Peni or switch to a different support with lots of mobility like Rocket. Notice that the enemy team has a great front line that isn't breaking? Switch to Strange for a second and see if a portal flank can give you some momentum. Is the backline Hela sniping your support from a million miles away? Switch your DPS to a good flanking hero and burst her from behind before she kills your Manits for the tenth time that game. If you're getting stomped hard and can't seem to gain any ground with the comp you're running, the first thing you should be thinking is whether or not a different character you know could do something yours can't. Marvel Rivals gives you a ton of characters to work with; use them! I promise, you'll really start turning games around, especially as long as your enemy refuses to adapt in turn.

Happened to me 2 nights ago 😂 was playing Penny and got absolutely violated by the enemy team, took the anger out and switched to Punisher. Flanked the shit out of the enemy team with my turret (they were all stacked together 😂) -> instant win 😂 Same if I can't do shit as a tank I'll flex DPS for a good high range hard hitting dude like Namoor or Iron Man. Or switch healer if I see the team lacking healing. Being able to flex in the middle of a game is where the wins reside

@@deadku6150 Of course, it's valuable to know how to not get steamrolled when you get unlucky with your pick, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea to be hard-headed, and "bad matchups" shouldn't be put in quotations because they matter. Iron Man VS Hela or Hawkeye is a bad match up, straight up. That's why he was literally unplayable until they figured out you can ban them. There's no point acting like it's smart to play him against one just because a really, really good Iron Man can theoretically beat a mediocre Hela. Every character in the game has matchups like that to lesser degrees. Sure, you chose to be stubborn in the hopes of eventually out-skilling your rank mechanically, but adaptability is a skill too, and I'm hardly going to give someone the advice to ignore that skill when it provides more value. You can either recognize a bad situation when you see one and adapt to make the situation more reasonable, or you can make everything way harder than it has to be by sticking to your guns when the core mechanics of the game specifically encourage you to not do that. I'm sure plenty will choose to do the same, and that's fine. I chose to do exactly that in Elden Ring because I didn't want to switch my playstyle, but the most strategic decision that gives the most wins is undoubtedly the other option, and I have to hold the losses I took because I refused to adapt. That's why it's a good tip if winning is what you care about.

Good tip on speaking in 3rd person! I mention to my team when staggering truly it should be comms on everything like you said. Being more vocal about this things would be great. Also need to put into practice the aggressive plays when payload gets cleared. Abit bad at that still. I get why this is losing me a lot of games now.

He didn't mention where the Hela is running off to. He didn't mention the map that also depends on how good the hela player is. ( No matter if we heal or not, health packs exist and it's tiring to follow people around the map ) - IF that hela is flanking way too CLOSE to their enemy spawn, strategists aren't going to follow you. - IF you are the ONLY SUPPORT, we won't follow you. ( Which also wasn't even mentioned ). - IF you constantly cannot aim and we're still healing you because we followed you as a flanker, it's not guaranteed that you're going to win - We're done healing you. You have to assume the enemy team is being healed as well Now, what about the other teammates? IF we ever so FAIL to heal the tanks or other DPS - GUESS who is going to be blamed for that? Strategists. INSTEAD of having 2 supports, NOT running off from your team ( Exception: If they all get eliminated, you're alone so you are away ), and helping your strategists from being backlined since DPS deals more damage than strategists do.. ( It just makes more sense instead of the other way around? You're eliminating TO KEEP YOUR SUPPORT ALIVE so they can continue healing you not so we can heal you for you to continue farming that tank who you couldn't eliminate in the first place )

Can be pretty stressful trying to keep the vanguard alive while going back and forth between them and heals/duelists trying to keep everyone from dying, but it's also a lot of fun. Well, that is until you have dip shits on the team that don't understand that heals don't go through walls or objects. I just sit there watching them die because otherwise everybody dies because I had to chase the dumb asses down around multiple corners.

Tip #4 is one that confuses me even in diamond. Well, not me since I main a Cloak and Dagger, but rather the players that bitch and moan about not getting healed when they run off into hidden compartments getting into fights while I am trying to stay alive against a spiderman or something. One question that wasn't mentioned in the first tip. As an Overwatch player, one reason you shouldn't stack 4 people on the cart is bcuz, the max speed of 116% is reached when u have 3 on cart. So more than 3 is redundant. Does that apply to marvel rivals or does the speed keep increasing with more on cart??

I believe for Rivals the top speed is reached at 4 on cart. That being said, pushing up to fight forward of point is often preferred, but can help when near a checkpoint.

As an overwatch player, I started playing this game 3-4 days ago, already about to climb to gold. And tbh, while often times we don't do these mistakes ourselves, we really can't help what our teammates make. For instance, ive spent minutes at a time trying to group up seeing my team stagger in non stop for minutes. And in these situations, and many others, I don't know what to do to have people play with some brains instead of just running in and dying solo 1v6, see them stack on payloads etc etc. Its so frustrating. You can hard carry every game, yet you will lose so many because of people just being braindead at lower elos. Yesterday I had a 23k dmg 36k healing game on mantis, and we still lost because people just do all of the things mentioned in your video and there is close to nothing you can do in these situations as solo Qer

EXACTLY. WHY IS HE TELLING SUPPORTS TO GO WITH THE HELA WHO RAN AWAY FROM THE TEAM TO MAKE IT A 2V1?? But then to say, "One mistake people make is STAGGERING" and "Reposition. Regroup. Go back to your team". No, I'm staying on the objective. The rest of the team cannot work together and I'm getting tired as a strategist healing an entire team mostly by MYSELF, you got these tanks that need to be pocket healed, DPS yapping but can't aim the SAME way they tell strategists that "they can't aim". ( You see how I'm reversing their toxic behaviors ) Like WHICH IS IT? You want me to regroup and NOT stagger but then you also want me to you know.. Go to whomever is fighting some random guy in a dark corner of a map just to win but then have to go back ( Here's the thing: Hela can be a bird who can't be hit. Meanwhile strategists won't have protection running back even IF Mantis and Luna can "run" as we always do ) I NEED to heal the entire team not just 1 guy who wants Kos when that's not even the goal of the game.

Do you have any advise on using coms as a female? I've tried so many times back when i played overwatch only to get back "you are a woman playing support what do you know" or anything like that. The most vivid memorie was a guy came into voice chat (mind you he wasnt talking in voice before) and asked why i didnt go with him as mercy when he soldier ulted (he wasnt aggressive or anything). To which i calmly responed that i wanted to but he was out of my los. He asked if i had a mic why i didnt tell that to him and before i could respond the other DPS went (in the most passive agressive way possible) its a woman what do you expect? The soldier instantly went okay i get why (luckily and my friends and i had a little laugh about it on discord). But this stuff isnt a once in blue moon kinda stuff i have this happen a lot so much so i just stopped using my mic in any kind of game im pretty thick skinned but at some point its not worth the energy anymore. anyone got any tips on things like these?

think about bans people, you do need to know quite a bit of characters to blend well with the rest of the teams skill level on whichever character they need to play. unless you aren’t solo queing ever, then this probably won’t mean anything and u won’t need to know as many just think about how you play regularly

I love the advice and it definitely improved my game, but at this point ive given up at gold 2. My game has jncreased significantly but this game is heavily biased to dps players. The Autolocking dps goobers wreck the match even if you play on your top game. The amount of matches ive seen thrown because nobody switches to support, or the guy filling support switches back to dps, uncanny. Low elo hell. I give up.

@abduktedtemplar because being exposed to better players and plays is literally the easiest way to improve with the least amount of effort required: if you get stomped, watch the replay of the game and try to recognize how you, individually, got outplayed by them and try to copy them. The opposite would be to only ever play with people of your own skill, which often leads to learning bad habits specific to the low elo lvl players that would *never* work against better ones thus getting you stuck. Mind you, im not saying this *is* the reason it is the way it is, nor am i defending the devs but your question was "why would anyone ever...?"

Slightly bad advice on pushing point. You want to keep 4 on point as much as you can. Obviously just before they start coming back you get in position to fight or keep them from pushing forward. Sitting on point during the fight does nothing. Especially if you're being contested. Hell you can even let them stop it if they're more worried about that then fighting as you stagger them out and easily retake point with 4 till next fight. Doing this will give you the best speed average. Unless the boost genuinely isn't worth it then I'd definitely keep 4 on point in between fights as much as you can. Being cautious of counters.

I think you have mentioned it before in some other video or someone else did it but. one thing that irritates me a lot are ult hoarders. People who don't ult because they are waiting for that 4+ man kill opportunity or something similar. Had Adam Warlock in one of my recent games who hoarded his ult for the whole match and at the end when we are about to lose and only he is up, he goes for his ult and gets shot before he resses anyone.

I think that learning all the characters when you start playing is good just so that you can learn who you do well with and who you don't do well with. But at a certain level of comp you can't use whoever and you gotta use those 4-5 characters that really work well for you. Or sometimes you just gotta use a boring character or a teamup character just to win. Like I play Strange a lot and a lot of time the other tank feels obligated to play hulk and a dps feels obligated to play iron man just because it's a great combo to have. It's not the best but that's what quickplay is for. It's almost like the devs wanted to make a sweaty playlist and a non sweaty playlist.

@@AlexeiX1that’s how it feels to me and I’m solo queuing. I often have the best stats on my team and I play strategist, but due to terrible teammates it’s really hard to climb. It feels like I’m getting bronze 3 teammates and it feels like the enemy team is just dominating almost every game. It doesn’t help that in silver and sometimes gold people still don’t understand team comp and wanna run 4 or 5 duelist while I’m the only healer on the team. Yesterday I had a game in silver 1 with 5 duelist and I was playing strategist and I said “come on guys let’s get another healer we’re not going to do well with 5 duelist” and one of my teammates said “if you can’t support the team on your own you probably shouldn’t be playing a strategist” bro pissed me off so bad 😭

Maybe just maybe, low elo ranks are annoying to solo queue though because you get stuck with low elo teammates. Plat and above solo queuing is a much better experience. Please use some critical thinking instead of “maybe you’re just bad”.

The ranked system is for fast rank up. You can go .500 and still rank up. I've found unpleasant teammates who blame everyone else but themselves in every rank. Just ignore and avoid them so you can focus on your own climb. Easiest climb you can find for competitive play though. Maybe they'll have a large amount of players in plat and diamond all of the time. Less skilled players in higher ranks.

It would make your content a MUCH more helpful resource if I could reference sections piecemeal to supplement what information I'm actually missing instead of getting lost in the weeds within the rewatch of a 30 minute video. As a strat main, I have to mute people + mute enemy team chat just so I can focus on the game instead of hearing some 5 yr old or 30yr old man complaining about not being healed. I play better in silence as a strat - Don't want to hear or talk about stuff that has nothing to with being on objective. I only have one goal - Let's win so we can get out quickly. Then add later if you want. ( as long as they aren't toxic to me + other ppl ) Though, I do see chat, hear people talking ( If they're not toxic- I keep them on ), I use pings ( A LOT ). + Some people surrender which makes it annoying to play the game because we haven't even tried

It'd be really nice to have a very mobile support like Juno in Overwatch to support your teammates all over the place. I loved turning 1v1s into 2v1s with her in Overwatch. The strategists don't have the Lucio/Juno mobility. Rocket is the closest with two six second cooldowns with his dash, Luna has good speed, but nothing like Lucio/Juno and Mantis is okay when she's full health but not similar. Supporting teammates on any role is a game changer and it's missing on the strategist side. Looks like Invisible woman is slow too. So many duelists are crazy fast like Iron Man and Star Lord and even Venom, Hulk and Cap can traverse the map quickly as Vanguards. Strategists need some love.
