My favorite widgeon hunt was in north Texas on a winter wheat field and all the ponds had froze over so the widgeon were just pouring into that field with canadas and snows. Best hunt to date

Fricken amazing hunt Cole. I finally got my all out amazing hunt this last weekend. 28 widgeon 16 big Tony's and 40 snows here in WA St. 4 man limit across the border. Wish my dad was still alive to be apart of that hunt.

Cole awesome shoot. I absolutely love the small pond shoots like that. I hunted quit a few just like that in East Texas just like that, also in central Wyoming. There's several ones in Wyoming that are feed with hot water springs that never freeze in the winter there's always 500-600 ducks on them. For so many subscribers there shure aren't many that comment. Keep up the awesome videos and the hard work it's paying off. Kris

Running traffic on a small pond is a challenge. Convincing them to drop into a new hole with the call and decoy placement takes a lot of skill. I have several places I can go kill five greenheads, but I’d rather hunt the traffic tank and bring two out of the stratosphere and work em all the way down.

What can bring ducks and geese to a small pond like this apart from bait?? Looks like there's nothing there for them to go to it for - just wondering.
@ColeTownsendThe13 күн бұрын
Yeah I don’t disagree with you there. 99% of the time it’s kind of like a resting spot for them next to where they feed. These ducks were flying 9 miles from where they roost to feed in a wheat field 1/2 a mile from this pond. So they basically hit the pond get a sip of water and leave to feed or fly back to the roost. When you scout transition ponds you have to sit and watch it for a couple hours to see how many flocks hit it. When you just drive by it you typically won’t see more than 10 ducks.
