This week's guest is the gambling reform campaigner Matt Zarb-Cousin and Matt has nominated Roots Hall, home to Southend United as his Ground Jewel.
Roots Hall opened in 1955 and for 33 years it was the last new Football League stadium until Scunthorpe's Glanford Park was constructed.
Situated in the heart of Southend, in recent years the ground has been receiving envious gazes from various property developers but as yet the Shrimpers have not moved to pastures new.

Hosted by sports author James Dixon ('The Fix' & 'World in Union') the Ground Jewels podcast is dedicated to celebrating the deep connections individuals have with their favorite sports grounds.
