I would have liked you to include, where appropriate, if a site concentrates on certain types of 3D files. For example, I'm not at all interested in game parts or character models, but am interested in practical prints and tools.

Great video. Please consider adding timestamps/segments in order to jump to the sections. I'll go over this a couple of times, but will need to search/stop/play/search again to find the sites you've highlighted that I am most interested in. Otherwise, great rundown.

Can i use all those sides with bambo lab or am a limited with bambo lab 3d printer? (Looking to buy me first 3D printer)
@sebatiis13 күн бұрын
You are only limited to models which you can print on your specific printer, fdm in this case. For example, you should avoid models with really thin ropes/chains or just really small highly detailed models with lots of overhangs. Of course you can try to print them but even if successful, it wont have resin quality.

There's A LOT of thieves on Etsy, selling other creators STLs, free or paid, and no good way to report them.
@joejvitale2 ай бұрын
Agreed. I cannot believe he left out that glaring omission because I'm a member of a number of patreons that, as soon as the model is released, the next day it's on Etsy for $2. Total thieves.

They operate in a grey legal area. Just like a lot of creators that make sculpts of trademarked IPs. If any of them actually get a C&D order, they have to legally comply and stop making stuff based on the respective IP. Example: Papsikels (who does mainly AvP based stuff) wanted to do DUNE inspired stuff back in 2021, but they received a C&D order from Warner, and they had to stop, on the basis that the models looked too close to the DUNE characters. However, Cyber Forge was doing the same thing, and somehow they managed to get away with it, with models that looked way more accurate than the Papsikels ones. Also, a lot of STL resellers work on the idea that they won't be reported, if the original creator doesn't want to draw attention to themselves, in case their creations are not a completely original IP, for example C27 Minis, Legion Miniatures and Trident Studio, that make stuff mainly to be used as Marvel Crisis Protocol proxies. It is bad for original IP creators and creators that make generic fantasy/sci-fi stuff though.

This might be an extremely dumb question. My A1 gets delivered today and have only been looking on the Bambu website. I assumed the import to bambu studio and import profile etc was for the A1. Do profiles get downloaded when I download a STL from another site?
@ItsMeaDMaDe2 ай бұрын
Not a dumb question you can select your printer and then send it to your printer and it’s using default profiles that are already in Bambi studio. If you’re new to Bambu studio I did a full series teaching it that you should check out. It will help you hit the ground running good luck!
@MarkoVukovic02 ай бұрын
STL files don't contain any profile. Just open it in your slicer and set your filament, quality, supports as necessary. You'll probably waste a few prints figuring out the best settings, but that's part of the learning.

Lots of creators do this for security reasons so someone can't leave a random link within the comments. It might even be a KZbin thing, happened to me. However, still pretty lame the creator didn't put them in the description as a few people asked.
