For Kevin Love, he dropped off because he was given a different role on the cavs. In Minnesota, most of his shots came from going to the rim. In the Cavs, they already had 2 players able to go to the rim in kyrie and lebron. So Kevin was given more of a catch and shoot role which wasn't his strong suit.

@@eliasl2466 Catch and shoot could be anywhere, if you watched some of his play, most of his shots are in the midrange. In Minnesota, he was posting up more and driving to the rim. Also he wasn't the main scorer so that can explain his dip in numbers.

I usually agree with your takes but most of these were misses imo, almost all of the players had big injuries, went to new teams, or had different roles than prior seasons (like KLove), so I wouldn’t say the talent disappeared for most of these ppl, rather they outside forces that limited their ability to perform to the same level

I honestly don’t think it’s Isiah Thomas fault. He had got injured and his own team traded him for a guy who was unloyal to them in the end and then he just go stuck in the mix of teams that didn’t know what to do with him. Nah, all of these are misses Howard - Injuries Griffen - injuries Fultz - injury Randle - good player on a bad team, when facing real competition it's a lot harder to be the star when you're not really a star. DeRozan - his terrible +/- is because of LeBron and getting blown out by the Cavs multiple years in a row. He's had some bad games, but everyone has, and his averages in the playoffs line up with his regular season stats. Lowry - Change in role, not the 1st or 2nd scoring option but still gets lots of assists and has playmaking awareness Carmelo - Shooter needing to change role due to age and less athleticism, he did well on Portland when he was in a catch and shoot role. KLove - Change in role and reduction in minutes (his per36 and per48 have been consistent since joining the Cavs). Harden - change in NBA rules, perimeter players can guard him more closely without picking up cheap fouls. Draymond - HUH!?!? He just won a championship as the warriors defense anchor and led the team in average assists, rebounds, blocks; 2nd in average steals, nearly averaged a triple double for the season, got selected to an All-Star game, and got DPOY consideration. MASSIVE MISS. Thomas - injury Ibaka - ongoing injury Andre Drummond - same as Randle, he played great on a bad Detroit team but mellowed out on better teams and versus better competition. Oladipo - injury None of these players had their talent just vanish

@@tatumtrane5744 Still a stupid point though. The video is about players who lost their talent, yet Demar just came off one of the best seasons of his career. He shouldn’t be on this list. You’ve got 11 players with significant drop offs and then you have a guy who’s still playing at an MVP level but a playoff choker. The comparison makes no sense. If disappearing in the play offs is a good argument why wasn’t it brought up for James Harden? He has been doing that since Houston. Sad to say but this video wasn’t that good I think the misconception was that Austin thought those players dropped off because their talents simply disappeared, but in reality it was only a result of injuries or aging that led to a worsened physical condition, hence those players either played less minutes, or took fewer shots as the offence kind of moved on from them

@@ReverendSam1 the only reason they didn't get anything with a Kyle and demar duo is because of Lebron and the cavs being annual finals contenders. Kyle did what klay did in making successful teams, they just couldn't overcome lebron, and that's why I said a budget klay bc klay is a better second option and the fact the warriors beat the cavs in the finals backs that up. Also Kyle didn't get carried ge was a key piece to that championship team just because he wasn't on kawhis level doesn't mean he was carried. And I agree Chicago probably won't win with demar because he's in his thirties on the decline but I think its unfair to say they should never have been 1 and two options is my main point here because they both performed very well for Toronto in those roles

I dont like the Lowry take. I agree he has fallen off in the playoffs, but once the raps went on their run he was good. His averages were nearly identical to regular season stats in 2019. After that point I'd say his playoff woes were gone, the real reason he was trash for the heat was simply hes old. He went from being a go to guy to a third or more accurately 4th option, that combined with age I think are the real explanation to why he dropped off so fast.

I feel like most of these guys…just got old. You go from 30 to 32 and you drop off. It’s pretty common. And then from 32 on it drops off pretty drastically. Idk if I like the takes on the video. The title makes it seem like they just sucked out of nowhere, but you acknowledge the injuries or the trades that happen? I mean of course Kevin Love dropped off when he went from being the only guy the shitty Wolves team had to a 3rd option in Cleveland. He became a bus rider. I personally don’t think he was a good fit. I wouldve had him stay in the paint and take the 8-10 foot shot if open and just rebound like a maniac. I never saw him as a great stretch 4 while in Minnesota but I also wasn’t watching the 25 win Wolves teams play. Blake got injured…Harden was affected by the rule change now that he can’t initiate the contact, Ibaka didn’t have the play style for the modern NBA. Thomas is the one that surprises me the most tbh how he went from averaging like 28+ and might be out of the League or a bench guy.

The disrespect towards the Hawks is unbelievable. That Hawks team went to an ECF, went 6 games vs the eventual champions, and you have the audacity to call them “not that impressive of a team” ? What the f are you smoking?

Anyone who says Isaiah Thomas' talent vanished hasn't seen what that man has done since his full recovery after the Celtics treated him like shit and like their star player's health didn't matter. Man puts down the fucking clinic in the games he still plays during the summertime making some of the nba and b-leaguer's look like total clowns. There's no reason he couldn't still perform in the nba now.

1. Injuries 2. Injuries 3. Down year 4. Derozan? Idc about the playoffs here. He was an mvp candidate this year. 5. Lowry? Injuries slowed him down this year, but really? Vanished? 6. He’s old for an nba player. He can still get a bucket… 7. Injuries. Specifically the Olynyk shoulder pull on Love. KLove on the TWolves was overrated? Come on. 8. Harden hasn’t vanished. Consistency is all that changed. He’s still an incredible player. 9. Draymonds take is an L. He doesn’t have to score. He hasn’t vanished. He is the foundation to the warriors defense and style. 10. Injuries and opportunities kill IT. He can get buckets. Always will. 11. Ibaka is even a stretch. He’s not a star. He’s a role player at the end of the bench for the bucks. He’s aged. 12. Drummond hasn’t vanished. He gives 10 and 10 off the bench. His only problem is lack of shooting. 13. VO is still a stud. You could see it in the playoffs. Injuries…
