The reason Brogdon won is because of his shootings splits, a rookie being that efficient is unheard of, Brogdon shot 46/40/87 on high volume, averaging 10-4-3-1. He was also picked 36th overall yet didn't let that affect him and was still great, so that factored in as well. The team also improved.

@robotube73612 жыл бұрын
@@kenrickkahn Yes I watched NBA finals actively from 1996 untiull 2002 and I can also confirm. Having Prime shaq in any team was like a cheat code. Shaq scored at will and I mean this literally. Literally no center or power forward could stop him from scoring once he was under the rim. There were situation where he would dunk with an opposing player on his back literally hanging on him. They tried everything to stop him. Usualy it would end by the opposing starter center and the opposing reserve center fouling out. This happened vs Sacramento where both divac and pollard fouled out in the 3rd quarter both with 6 personal fouls because they couldnt do anything to stop Shaq legaly. Indiana was the first team to use the "hack a shaq" by letting in reserve players to commit fouls on shaq while he was at half court so he would go to the Free throw line. The 2000 finals were just ugly. India would do this the whole game and it really pissed of fans. Fans were booing this because it literally killed the fluidity of the game but they couldnt let shaq score at will anytime he got the ball. So it was ridiculous wathing the Lakers in those first years of the 2000. I mean everyone knew they would win - so it was an achievement even to win a game against them let alone try to elimnate them. it wasnt just Shaq. Kobe was at his peak and he was doing some insane shit. Some of his dribbles and crossovers and the driving at the rims were just insane. Im yet to see somoene do a 360 roll in the air thus literaly passing by his oppinent in the airm rolling pass him and then dunk the ball. Kobe is the only player that did that 360 dunk in game. I felt sorry for those Nets Sixers Portland Indiana teams, They would have been awesome playing against any nornal team. But this team was not NORMAL. They had Prime Dereck Fischer who was like a sniper and prime Robert Horry which was literally the best 6th man in that era. Rick Fox was always solid too. The man never ever had a disasterous game. He was always solid. People mention just Kobe and Shaq but My God that whole team was just in the stratopshere. They went 15-1 in the playoffs one year and that was because Allen Iverson had that game of his lifetime. Im talking teams old school era teams where the centers and forwards were beating up shaq and still nothing. Nowdays if you look somoene wrong- they will give you a tachnical. Diesel and Kobe. To this day the best 1-2 punch in ALL of Basketball. Hands down. And they were young and stupid and did shit off the court. Its like OKC in 2012. That kind of experience. Shaq was really a fucking bully who insulted opponent players and kobe was an unapologetic prick and ball hog. They lost those finals against Detroit because of them infighting not because Detroit really stood a chance. The same happened with San Antonio in 2003. if Shaq and Kobe werent acting like assholes and they kept this team together until the 2010s I dont think Steve Nash or Tim Duncan would have even been in the MVP conversation. I mean Shaq was so dominant he even went in Miami and won a title right away just to prove to everyone he can do it without Kobe. Kobe then won two with Gasol just to prove the same point. If they matured and stayed together- My God- I think they would have passed the Bulls in championships and Im not even Kidding. Everyone thought they will do it in 2002. sorry for the long post.

Analysts said that 2016 was going to be one of the weakest drafts in recent memory. They said that other than the first two picks (Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram), the teams weren't likely to land impact players. Then Simmons didn't even play that season and Ingram underperformed. It was so bad that the other two candidates that year, Dario Saric and Joel Embiid (who only played 35 games), were 2014 draftees! I just looked at the first round on Wikipedia, and oh boy are there some busts. So far, only six of the draftees have made an All-Star game, and Brogdon is not one of them.

What is this guy's weird obsession with Curry? Curry did not have the best MVP Season of all-time. He had ONE of the best, but not the best. When you're mediocre to bad defensively it fails to compare to some of the best like '88 Jordan. This guy is always trying to ride Curry hard and for no reason. Worst Finals MVP and MVP would have to go to Wes Unseld. I get his impact as a leader, but his stats suck horribly and most of the time the Bullets were never a 50+ win team, so his "impact" is questionable. Should've definitely mentioned Hakeem 90s seasons for the defensive categories. Well then again, you think Curry is better than him, so he probably don't want to give him any spotlight. Also what's with your weird '96 Jordan obsession? That's not peak Jordan. Jordan would even tell you that and many spectators at the time tell people that. From '87 - '93 is peak Jordan.

But when that's the only aspect you truly are better than the greatest MVP seasons, then that isn't the best MVP season of all time.

Better scoring, defense, rebounds, and efficiency. Assists were comparable, and both were more slashers and dunkers rather than shooters so both don't have the craziest shooting percentages but great true shooting which factors in all dunks and finishes at the rim. Shaq was almost the first unanimous MVP too where only 1 dillusional voter had Allen Iverson as the MVP. Didnt magic win it or fmvp
@colinsteinmetz87732 жыл бұрын
@@ATLANTA64 Magic only won FMVP in his rookie season, 1979-80. He didn't even win ROTY. Larry Bird won it that year, and Kareem won MVP.

The guy that gave up 100 to Wilt made all-star a few years later. In the 60's the rule was that every team had to have an all-star so there were some very bad all-stars from expansion teams. No need to embarrass them by naming them here.
@gabrielnieves99742 жыл бұрын
I would argue that the worst player to win DPOY is actually Marcus Smart, not Marc Gasol.
