In this video, I'll take a look at a price range I don't often discuss on the channel: watches under $150. It might seem like there's not a lot out there for a watch enthusiast at this lower price tier, but there are a number of solid options for savvy watch nerds who know where to look. If I missed any other excellent watches under $150, be sure to let me know in the comments! As a note, some of these watches might fluctuate in price, so don't come after me if they're slightly over $150 in the future!

I’ve had the Citizen for about five years maybe. I wear it everyday to the office and working in the yard. I’m not easy on it and find it very accurate and durable. I swapped the band for a simple unfinished chocolate brown leather. I find it warms is up and takes away the “field” look. Thumbs up for sure. Great watch for the money.

For me it was cause of some scammers on Instagram lmao well tbh, idk if they are scammers or not. But I kept seeing their ads "Wristmafia" pop up & kept seeing comments say they never got their orders lol but the watches they showed looked so nice that I started to look around in actual stores and websites...and now a year later I'm collecting them😂

I was actually turned away from watches a bit from an earlier Teddy video. The one with Kevin where you picked out watches under $12,000 Kevin said that most people didn’t think you could get one good watch for 12k. And when looking at watches in the thousands, marveling at how cheap it was. This video is great! Very excited to buy my first watch.

Avi-8 flyboy engineer. Great pilot watch for a very reasonable price ( I got mine for 160 dollars) It has nice finishing and a beautiful and unique dial. Bracelet is great for the price and the automatic movement is fairly precise. It has an engraving of a fighter pilot on the case back which I love. All in all it’s a great watch for the price for people who love aviation.

$150 is a tough price these days. When I became an enthusiast 10 years ago $100-150 was pretty reasonable, but today I think the upper limit for budget watches needs to move up to $200 or $250. I once saw someone wearing a Vostok on a full NATO strap and I told him it would be very rare to see someone wearing that combination out in the wild. I very rarely see someone wearing even an automatic Seiko.

But when you brought up the g shock DW9052 lol out of the sea of g-shocks you paid homage to im pretty sure the very first watch that i ever bought for myself i think i bought it at the NAVY Exchange in North Island California my first duty station. I just took it out of my watch box. The original strap has long since seen its demise i have it on a tan nato strap with leather accents. I have the Casio Duro and wow after using it for several years, including swimming with it, I can say for the price that it costs it's absolutely amazing. The quality of the case is better than a lot of other watches on Amazon that cost 3 times as much. I just wish that it had a metal strap, the rubber strap though functional and function correct is a bit of a let down in the looks department. The watch is an unbeatable bargain though. I see you're a Casio fan. Im on my sixth DW-6900. I've never broke one. And I've never spent more than 120 on one. They're a little big, but by no means gaudy. And the only reason I ever consider them "dead" is because I've burnt the glass too much from welding. You can get a fun one, or a base model for as little as 60. It is decidedly my permanent work watch.

I know it's kind of an unpopular opinion, but for 150 (and slightly above), I always recommend Seiko's SSB line of entry-level Quartz chronographs. Playful designs, cleverly implemented complications and decent bracelets. Also, they're built to last and basically indestructable. I know, you can get a very similar level of quality for less money from Casio's Edifice line, but I just think Seiko is a tiny bit more upper class overall!

Yes! The sistem 51 was my second real watch and other than lack of hacking I not only love it but I think it could be to watches what the introduction of the quartz movement was. I got the absolute most expensive one at a whopping $255 shipped.

Hello, your videos are excellent and they have allowed me to learn a lot. What do you think of the CASIO 2100-1A? It is impossible to buy one, and those who resell have come to charge twice the original price.

If you don't mind waiting on shipping from china, cadisen makes great value pieces. Decent designs (some better than others....), Seiko or miyota automatic movements and sapphire crystals. Under 100 bucks.

Hello Teddy and others! I landed my first real salaried position where I am going to be dealing a lot more in sales and speaking with clients. I have always worn G-Shocks but feel the need for something a little more dressy. My biggest issue is that I am a pretty big guy (6' 8") and have trouble finding watches that have a comfortable bracelet. Any advice on models that might include a few more extra links than normal or fit larger wrists? Thanks!

I have two Seiko 5s. I love them - durable, good looking, self winding. All of my recent watch purchases are self winding mechanical watches. I don’t have to spend $15-20 each year or two for a battery or be on a trip or be off in the wilds for a week or two and the quartz watch suddenly starts losing time.

I have one, just do not drop them on a tiled floor. I dropped it once in the bathroom taking it off, and it stopped working. Well technically it still works but it doesn't tell the right time anymore.

I treated myself to a low end 150 buck Seiko Solar years back and Wow. Utterly maintenance free and tough as nails. I'm thinking of a 400dollar Seiko Solar Coutura now. Totally worth it.

Steeldive are hard to beat in this price range, given their Seiko movements (e.g. NH35), sapphire crystals, ceramic-lumed bezels, S.S. case/bracelet. Favorites: SD1970, SD1975, SD 1973. I have owned (since 1998) a Rolex Submariner 16613 and have to admit, the SD1973 is a fine daily driver and looks terrific. I have no issue with a "homage" as there is no IP infringement...no illicit branding or design patent infringement, whatsoever. Love the Seiko movements; as a simple replacement of this reliable mechanism (i.e. after 10+ years of use) is a cheap maintenance approach.

Really enjoyed this video and appreciate the blog regarding best watches under $500. I am a HUGE fan of Citizen watches and I'm about to take the plunge on their Promaster Nighthawk BJ7007-02L (can't wait) but after that I think I'll start venturing off into the microbrand world (LIV, Dan Henry, Boulder, etc.) Thank you so much! A very good list. One tip, though: in German, au is pronounced "ow". So it's "Brown" and "Bowhouse". One series I'd add are the Bertuccis. I got a top-of-the-line one with the 10 year lithium battery and sapphire crystal. The strap is awesome, too.

I have been wearing that exact Citizen Chandler almost everyday for close to 10 years now. I liked the smaller size of it. I bought it when i went in the army and its stuck with me since. It can take quite the beating. Case and crystal full of dents and scratches since i work with my hands a lot. Never had an issue. Swimming, low temps, high temps never lost a beat. I have had it on leather straps and multiple natos, currently on a black one. I have a few vintage manual and autos in my collection but this is an everyday champ.

My first "real" watch was a Dufonte Lucien Piccard with the Blue face and the gold highlights. Still have it, as a matter of fact (pulled it out of storage and picking up a new battery and replacing the strap as I've.. expanded in certain areas since I last wore it. Yes, wrists get bigger, too!!! :D ). Wore it all the time until I got hired into a tech company in the 90's and had to start wearing a pager. Stopped wearing the watch because the pager had the time on it. Just recently got back into wrist watches so I've been watching ALOT of these channels and I really appreciate Teddy's approach. Have a smart watch, but as someone else said, it's sensory overload. I've always been a minimalist so it just doesn't work for me. And I only prefer a face with just the time. Don't need a date or chronograph, etc. Also have been thinking of starting to carry around my great-grandfathers Hamilton 912 pocket watch, which still works like a champ after almost 90 years.
