I live in a suburb of one of the bigger metro in the whole US, and we don't have mom and pop shops anywhere. Half Price costs as much and more than BB and Target sometimes, and they might have 3-4 4k movies at all.

Arrow has definitely become my favorite this year! I just love their boxsets! I wish we had a boutique label who made exclusively releases in VSU packaging, I guess we do with the film vault releases. We still have plenty of boutique options to collect the movies we love.

Good call on scream factory and them sending you pre-orders a few weeks early. I am trying to grow my channel so when it comes to new releases I didn’t realize that advantage to cover them early. Gonna miss the Lionsgate Best Buy 4k exclusives. Don’t know if Walmart is going to pick those up or what. The most important thing is that we shop at Best Buy‘s in stores and show them that there’s demand for them to keep supporting physical media in their stores,so that they reverse there dumb decision!!! As much as I love physical media without a major retailer like Best Buy‘s carrying them it’s going to be a major nail in the coffin for physical media if people aren’t seeing it in person they’re not thinking about it out of sight out of mind. All those sites to order movies from that’s all good and fine but that’s not gonna make physical last without major retailers carrying them in stores.

@@markpugh6808 I can only speak for my area because I’m in New York and there’s no Walmart but according to my friend that works at Best Buy here physical movies sell extremely good at Best Buy’s. When a new Big release comes out they sell 100s of that movie alone in a week, No employees even knew about them not going to carry physical movies before it was mentioned. But once again if people go to the store and buy them there’s a chance for the Best Buy’s might reverse there decision they are business.

I was checking online at Walmart for 4Ks. There are a lot but not in-store. Walmart needs to focus hard on 4K movies and 4K Steelbooks {Exclusives} at that. Who the hell is buying them cheap DVDS.

We still buy physical media frequently but have not bought a disc at our Best Buy in probably 7 or 8 years. They just have so little we need or cannot find much cheaper elsewhere

I keep getting damaged 4K blu-rays and standard blu-rays from Amazon. At the rate of 50% it seems. However, the damage is more and more related to heat damage and shelf storage abuse and or handling damage rather than pure shipping damage, which of course also still happens sometimes. I’d like a disc media store that would do the brief visual inspecting work to only ship me quality like new product, makes sense right, to look at it and say hey this is in good condition or not, then pack it well for me to survive the shipping process.

Thank You for calling out Shout/Scream Factory pricing. Grindhouse depends on the title. For example Crimes of the Future and It Follows were each $5 cheaper at pre-order than Diabolik. Also with Grindhouse free shipping on over $100.

For now. Prices are still increasing though. Starting to look like future prices will be heading to $50 for standard editions, $80-$100 for limited editions. When it gets there I'm done. It's already insane with the current prices. Atm we are getting 2-3 titles for $100 without tax. Great vid man 👍🏻

What are you talking about? The cost of Blu Ray’s are not outrageous! We got all 4 John Wick movies at Best Buy after 4 came out for $40 & there was no sale going on! We have never paid over $30 for a single movie! The only reason we paid around $30 is because of the 4K disc that came with the Blu Ray!

I really started going online like 10 yrs ago. Deep Discount was my top Pick. SF is too expensive with their Special Editions. But i dt need all the add on's the include with the disc. Only thing to get Free Shipping u gotta spend $35-$50 bucks and of course if i want one movie. It's $32-$34 so they try make u order another movie to get FS... Never ordered from Kino, but i'll check some of these sites out. I wonder how Shipping is from these new companies...That's the main thing. BF I will be busy ordering since BB is stopping Blu sales. These sites will be more Popular to go to. But most important is Shipping with far less damage with bad packaging. We'll see - lol

My biggest disappointment with the loss of Best Buy is the exclusive steelbooks. I do hope Walmart or someone takes up the slack with those, but I fear there's going to be a loss of the amounts of releases that get one now. I'm with steelbooks the way you are with slipcovers - sometimes if I'm on the fence about a title the fact there's a steelbook will be the deciding factor to buy.

I don't see what the big deal is. Bc best buy is not a good place to buy your physical media. I stop going and shopping with best buy 2 yrs ago. When best buy shrunk there physical media down to just a few rows of physical media. I do 98 percent of my shopping at deep discount. And I would not be surprised if best buy in the next 5 yrs would be out of business. Bc if you go into a best buy store now. There shelves are empty on everything you would be looking for
