Once while I was kneeling down and putting away some cans of food in the bottom drawer of my kitchen cabinets. I had placed the cans on the counter, one of the cans fell on my head and literally bounced off my afro. I survived unscathed!😏

I think coolest thing about 4c hair, is how underestimated it is. people assume that it can't grow long. I remember when I first went natural some girl said my hair is probably to the middle of my neck (it wasn't, it was shoulder length) but now since my fro is sooooo much bigger, ppl are amazed on how much it has grown. it looks like a globe on my head 😭 can't wait til it swallows my head and neck when it reaches my waist. #JourneyTo16inches #YesImTiny

Loved this video! I hate when i look in the comment section of videos of women with looser hair textures and women with 4c hair are always drooling over it and putting things like "i wish i had your hair, i have slave hair lol". Like that is so cringe worthy to me. Go watch videos of women with hair like yours so you can learn how to love and take care of it instead of putting yourself down. What's the point of going natural if you're not gonna embrace what's growing out of your scalp?
@NappQueen7 жыл бұрын
Ebonee Hunt Yes honestly I believe those are the people who dislike videos like this. I left a positive comment on a rant video titled "I hate my 4C Natural hair" basically saying as long as you say and feel your hair is ugly it's going to be just that, until you embrace it for the beauty that it is it will not flourish, and to love what you have because it beautiful.. a few moments later this video got its first dislike lol but it's okay I just try to help but not everyone wants my help I'm sure there's someone out there that can help them
@Reneg8d_Ren7 жыл бұрын
Ebonee Hunt yes! 🙌🏾 you are absolutely correct! When I went natural I had a difficult time finding women on KZbin who had hair like mine. Not to mention going through the stage when you realize that your hair just can't achieve a wash and go 😔. This is exactly why I say that hair typing is important. Especially to new naturals. It gives them a sense of direction. Once I realized that I had 4C hair it was like I was on a guided journey to hair happiness! Found so many KZbinrs that offered me so much guidance and even had to unsubscribe from a few channels to stay on track. 3 years later and my hair has blossomed! And I'm still in love with my Violet!

And it's also embarrassing when a KZbinr with 4c hair as clear as day has people in their comments telling them that they aren't 4c just because the KZbinr's hair is well moisturized, cared for, and flourishing. It's as if it can only be 4c if it's dry, tangled, frizzy... "you can't have 4c hair, I'm 4c and mine doesn't look like that" (eye roll) like just stop lol

I don't have 4C hair but it's my favorite hair type. 4C hair can mimic every other style through stretching (wave, straight, spirals) but no other hair type can mimic 4C. 4c hair is litt. i feel my hair is alive. it changes with my moods. if i am stressed it knots and tangles more, when I am relaxed it tangles less, but the way it shrinks it like a living organism. and then the coils that look like springs remind me of potential energy vs kinetic enery. and then our hair is very electro-magnetic. oh yes i forgot to say beautiful.

I never hated my 4b/c hair. At the contrary, I dreaded the day I got a relaxer as a kid. Never hated my hair more during this period. It's one of the things I'm the most proud of when it comes to my appearance. It's mostly others who used to say that kinky hair is not good because: " you can only do bantu knots or four plaits with it". Literally that's what they said. I didn't care and one day, It was around 6pm, I took a pair of scissors and cut all the relaxer off, lol. *What I love the most about our hair?* The fact that it is dense and can make one of the most beautiful styles in my opinion, the Afro. I LOVE type 4 hair that can just bob on your shoulders or when you walk, it's like a fluffy cotton ball that has so much life to it. Jumping left and right like it's alive. Or it's so big that people can't even see your eyes. Haha! Love your 4c hair, it's perfect the way it is and I hope that If I have children one day, that they'll be blessed to have my hair texture as well :)

Moisture as in tons of water because my hair is sooo dry, protective styling, and my holy grails jamaican black castor oil (for my scalp), coacoanut oil, and shea butter and thats it. I noticed my hair grows faster when it's in braids and when I'm wearing it out its mostly in two flat twist or something that I wont have to redo until the week is up, the less I do to my hair the more it grows. Also try taken bioton if you want to see even faster results and if you're keeping up with your hair and trimming it at least every 6 months it all comes down to genetics.

I have always gotten compliments on my 4c hair especially when it was permed. But I have to admit. I sometimes lost confidence hearing my black coworkers making negative comments with humor. But the most surprising thing is hearing my hair stylist friend coming down hard on women for going natural, plus she has a looser girl pattern A.K.A GOOD HAIR. And she can not believe white people like natural hair, but I get more compliments from them than anyone except other natural sisters. I love that you are so encouraging. I needed that video.

Love this video! I feel exactly the way you do about my 4c, I'm literally in love with it. It is so unique and sooooo underrated. It stands up boldly and just has so much life! Every other hair type can be imitated/duplicated except for ours, 4c can do anything... in the sense that it can be molded to look different in such a variety of ways. And even though shrinkage can be annoying sometimes, I think it's one of the most cool and fascinating things about 4c.... How it can be 2inches from your scalp one moment and mid back the next, and spring right back. Sometimes I just can't keep my hands out of my hair lol I was natural most of my life, except for 6-7 years (my last year of high school and 5-6 years after), so returning natural hasn't really been much of a journey for me. I just stopped perming it one day and never looked back, and I don't feel like I'm missing anything today. I never understood how someone can actually say or feel that they literally "hate" the hair growing from their own scalp. Even when I permed my hair for the first time, I never felt that way... I just felt like trying something new/different and I liked it while it lasted. Even now, when I get bored or lazy I will wear braids or extensions once in a while, but when I do I miss my hair underneath and I just wanna touch it and squeeze it lol I wish more people would take the time out to really learn about their own hair and what it likes or responds best to, because once they get to that point I just know they would grow to love it. I tell people that returning natural after a very long time is almost like a new romantic relationship. You have to get to know the person and it doesn't happen overnight, it takes time and patience, not even a year... sometimes it takes much more to fully know that person. You have to learn to accept them for who they are, both on their good days and bad days. You have to learn what they like and what they dislike. It's not always easy, sometimes it's hard or inconvenient, you will have ups and downs. But when you stick it through and work with the person, it is worth it in the end. You grow to love them unconditionally. And if you sit around with false expectations and try to make that person be someone they are not, it will never work out.... it's the same concept with your natural hair. You treat it will kindness, tender love and care, and it will flourish and blossom in ways you never imagined... ultimately, the best hair is healthy, moisturized hair. Love your message! And I hope people who feel insecure about their hair will see this video and it inspires them to accept and love their 4c the way some of us do. You're awesome!

Love this video! As much as I wrestle with my 4c hair and curse it from time to time, I do love it. It suits me better than straight hair ever did... The one thing I will say about growing 4c hair long - some of us who choose not to put in the effort to grow it long just aren't pressed about it. I think I look super cute with shorter hair and I also do not have the time (and sometimes energy) to put in the effort to grow it long. Could I make the time? Yes. But long hair isn't a priority for me. My hair is very short when shrunken and about 3 inches below my shoulders when straight (hardly ever) and that's more than enough for me. This is not any kind of statement against those who want long hair and work to make it happen! in fact I admire your dedication.

I loveeee my hair but anytime I let it shrink it's a NIGHTMARE to detangle. I have to wash and condition my hair in twists just because if I don't it gets so tangled even while it's still wet 😩 my hair is at my collar bone when stretched & yours is super long so I'm just imagining what it's like for you to get your hair detangled once it's fully shrunken lol. I really look forward to you putting out new videos. There aren't enough girls on KZbin with hair that looks just like mine so I get excited when I get a notification from you ❤️

Napp Queen I had never tried a braid out til I watched your videos & now I'm like whyyyyy haven't I been doing this lol!? My hair turned out amazing. If my hair was longer I would have added the perm rods to the ends but I only have orange ones so they're too big for right now.

I really enjoyed your video. I have 3b hair and my daughter has 3b-3c hair so I can relate to a lot of what you said. And you're beautiful with or without makeup.

I don't have 4c hair but I must admit it is the most beautiful type to me. The things that are the best are usually the things that people hate on.

This is one of the best videos I have ever seen!!! May God bless you for loving what He gave you and encouraging others to do the same! I have never seen a video praising 4C hair and it is so needed. I love how you appreciate how God knew it would suit you, how our ancestors gave us our hair, how it is the most unique, no one can imitate it and how you praised shrinkage. I've never heard of shrinkage spoken of in a positive light and I didn't know that it was a sign of hair health. This video is everything so I will absolutely be sharing it far and wide and I liked and immediately subscribed. God bless you sister with your halo👼🏿

I've been wanting to grown my 4c hair for..forever. I used to be so motivated and confident that I could grow it long but the it flipped on me. I could really figure out what it wanted or what to do with it. And I stopped really trying I'd love to get back into it and grow to waist-or past- waist length. ❤️❤️❤️

I have 3c hair but I absolutely love 4c hair😍 I think my texture changed because I used to be able to rock a puff ball or afro but those days have passed and my hair just plops down😭 but 4c hair rocks and whoever doesn’t like it is crazy❤️

Thanks, Sis! Needed this! I'm the oldest of three girls, but the only one with 4c hair so I was always made to feel like mine wasn't as pretty but I've learned that I can do the most with my hair and even though it takes work I'm learning to master versatility and am enjoying this new journey of natural! 8 months post BC! ❤️

I saw this and subscribed immediately. Going natural is a huge commitment and many people get discouraged when they figure out what their natural hair types is but like you said it is a gift from God. I LOVE how you sat back and thought of all the benefits (and they are endless). We need to uplift one another and let everyone know you are beautiful because you are a gift from God and you can't get any better than that

From the bottom of my heart,❤️ THANK YOU for making a video like this! I wish more 4c natural youtubers did this video. You're awesome! I've had relaxed hair since I was 5 years old and up until about 2 and a 1/2 years ago I had no idea what my hair texture looked like. I was used to having mid-back length relaxed hair. I started my natural hair journey simply because I wanted to know what I natural hair looked like and I'm so proud to say that I absolutely love it so much more 😍 and Ironically for many of the same reasons you gave lol. Thanks again for sharing ❤

I love shrinkage. I don't understand why people look at it as a negative.
@jenniferclaudio89377 жыл бұрын
Angie Wilder The only reason I look at it as a negative, and it really isn't a negative, is because it is a beast to detangle. But, shrinkage = health so I just make sure to to keep it stretched to save my fragile strands.

I have slightly wavy hair and I'm not black but I think 4C hair is absolutely beautiful. I hate seeing women with 4C say they hate their hair and I wish they could feel proud of it like you do. Everyone's hair grows from their heads in the way it was meant to, naturally, and it is beautiful that way. Wear your hair like a crown, girls, because it is stunning.
