I think I mentioned before that we are building our house in Olathe, so these Johnson County videos are great and help my wife and I learn more about the area. Awesome video, had no idea how cool Black Bob Park is.

Yes, I remember - you purchase the model I showed in my Lee’s Summit video. Small world 😂. Thank you for the feedback. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

For anyone else who may be in a similar position, what made you initially decide on Lee’s Summit and why did you choose to build in Olathe?
@Zetla Жыл бұрын
@@kcsuburbs We chose Lee's Summit for the first house due to its rentability. Needed a community that allowed leases and had good schools / crime rate. As for Olathe, we wanted to be near Overland Park but didn't want to be in a cramped area. Building in Olathe allowed us to get a large lot surrounded by trees and be quite private but still get the benefits of Johnson County. We actually looked at Cedar Creek for a while but ended up building in a smaller secluded area called Timberstone Ridge.

@@Zetla Very cool! Thank you for sharing. I’ve had many people initially start looking in OP just to end up in Olathe because of those bigger lots. Good luck with the rest of your build! I’ll be excited to hear what you think of Olathe once your home is finished.

I work in Old Town Olathe and I like the area. I've been trying to buy a home there and it proven to be extremely hard.

The market is just crazy right now. You almost have to go too far outside of the Old Town Olathe area to find anything. How long have you been looking for?
@jordan79er Жыл бұрын
@kcsuburbs been looking since April this year. Keep getting outbid or offers with either option 2 or 3. Just lost one today. They chose an offer cash with option 3. Never had a chance I guess....

@@jordan79er Oof! I'm sorry to hear it. Box 2 and 3 are crazy (unless the house needs a lot of work imo). I hope you find something soon as we head into the holiday months!

Me and my family are relocating to Olathe for work. I’m not ready to buy yet but been looking at rental properties. Any suggestions when is comes to renting?
@kcsuburbs7 ай бұрын
Hi there - I would take a look at Olathe, Lenexa, and even some parts of Shawnee depending on how close you need to be to work. Rentals.com, Zillow Rentals, and Realtor.com rentals will typically cover your bases. The wider the search radius, the more options you'll have, which should result in a better deal/value. Let me know if you have any specific questions!

As a potential resident to the Kansas City area, I have a very important question: Where is the nearest (and best) lake for boat owners to take their boat? I currently drive 30 minutes from a marina and find that to be far enough.
@kcsuburbs Жыл бұрын
Very important question indeed. Check out Lee’s Summit. You’ve got Lake Lotawana, Winnebago and a few others around 15 minutes away or less. You could also check out Lake Weatherby, which is just north of Parkville.

@@kcsuburbs thank you very much for this advice. I will check into those areas for sure.

Hillsdale Lake is much closer to Olathe it is just south of there maybe 20 minutes. However there are many lakes within a couple hours from Olathe.

Too far south and too far west. I would stick to leawood.

Olathe is a turd of a place. Unless of course you love being harassed by the police half the time and robbed by your neighbors the rest.
@kcsuburbs6 ай бұрын
The videos on your channel (and your profile picture) make it seem like you’re the one harassing police officers...
