Cost are going up, I believe that is for most cities these days not just specific to Kansas City.

I know all about expensive suburbs of KCMO and believe me they are high but I live in Kansas about sixy miles South of KCMO and the houses down here aren't cheap. Maybe not as expensive but not cheap either. About the most expensive suburb that I know of would be Mission Hills. I lived in Prairie Village between 1972 till 1990 when my family and I moved to Linn County. Even then Prairie Village wasn't cheap and it's worse now. The house my parents bought in 1972 cost about $22,000.00. Today that house cost over $300,000 and has been empty for over five years that I know of. Last time I looked it up the exterior was a horrible shade of grey and some of the interior has changed. And with the high interest rates of today that's a ridiculous price. God bless.

@@robinkrieger8003 I know that, as I used to live in Johnson county for years, every since I was born (1949) until 1990. Leawood is very expensive but probably even more so now. At one time some of Leawood was nothing but farm land. God bless.
