My scenario is that early explorers were right, and there's a cliff at the end of the ocean, and my boy Chris went over it and died. Thereby preventing the 13 colonies from being established.

Honestly the possibility that the americas just didn’t exist and Columbo and his crew just starve to death in the middle of a massive Atlanto-Pacific ocean is funny to think about (he thought the world was far smaller than it actually was and did not have enough supplies to reach Asia as planned)

Washington, when he thought all his nephews were all going to die without legal issue, adopted his nephew's son by an enslaved woman. After getting to know the young man, he decided to free his slaves at his death. Humans have a tendency to be less unpleasant to each other, once they know each other . . . .

My ancestors served on both sides in the Civil War (because they were mercenaries who fought for whoever paid them). When they came to stay later on, they all came North.

Wow, there is a quality drop when sean is not on here. Really hope that dude starts coming on more because this was rough. Also, thersities switches his stance so much when this chicks on. I remember him talking to sean about how the 1619 project was bunk not that long ago, but when this womans on all of a sudden, history is all about race. Evil is a human thing, not a racial one lady.

@@arandomfawn5289 yeah, he just goes out of his way to confirm her ridiculous race narratives. She mentioned how some author they were reading were biased, but she has more bias than anyone else I've ever heard. She invited people to talk to her on her channel, he said the name was bookworm2bookworm but I didn't see any results to that. I think I would enjoy a conversation with this lady.

Could you do a video or livestream on the lead-up to the Revolutionary War? I find the late colonial period interesting but there isnt a lot of people that talk about it in the level that you talk about other subjects.

Perhaps I can arrange for a stream on that. I will have to talk to Sean and some of the other people I know to see if I can find someone with a strong grounding in that subject, as I must admit that I am not all that well-acquainted with the colonial period.

Thersites, I’ve listened to your work for years and I really do enjoy your historical content, I especially like how politically different we are and I’ve always respected you as a sort of rational opposition to my own take, but man you really show your ass whenever you talk with nonwhite persons. You come off so cowed, you acquiesce to everything they say and give the meekest possible pushback. I hope you can resolve this in the future, I know I’m not the only one in your audience who notices this.

What if the Indians had followed the treaties too? The thing is, the Tribes did not have total control by one person. The Indians needed better lawyers. They ended up into agreements they could not carry out.
