I LOVE this game so much. It’s like gundam only slightly more grounded in reality. I know that’s really stupid to say when talking about giant mecha in any case but it feels like it rings more true in this game. You can’t just jump into a sentinel. There are steps that need to be taken and even then staying inside for more than a few minutes at a time will overload your brain. Which makes sense since you’re essentially controlling a second nervous system when your own brain can barely handle yours.

I think its more limitations make it more interesting. Some mechs is just, get it, pilot it, win fights, repeat. With this game, you got a time limit on how long you can pilot the mech until you overload your brain. With others like Pacific Rim, you need a 2 pilots to even move the mech. And for a less popular choice, Gen:Lock the crew needed to learn how to use them, as if they are in a different body. These limitations feel grounded; gundam makes them all look like super robots, but each of the previously mentioned mechs in medias with their limitations give a sense of learning and growth, so much so that it feels more rewarding the more effort they put in, and get better at it. But that's just my thoughts

The reason why I love 13 sentinels not only because of the beautiful casting having Allegra Clark, Chris Hackney, Zach Aguilar, Cassandra Lee Morris, Billy Kametz (may he rest in peace) Kaiji Tang, Erica Mendez, and Christina Vee but the art style and the director which people don't know who he is Christian La Monte. He is the voice actor of Ignatz and Fire Emblem three houses but he also directed 13 sentinels, unicorn overlord, Fire Emblem three houses, shin megami tensei series and a bunch of other games literally on his behind the voice actors not only his direction for these games is good to godly tier with Atlus. I recommend you check out Chris Mayek interview with Christian La Monte because he is very sweet in the interview. He's also very funny especially if you go see Anime Impulse like the snack eating challenge with the Fire Emblem three houses voice actors. But yeah that's the reason why I love 13 sentinels always have a place in my heart ❤️.

I'm fairly certain Megumi's was on her stomach to accentuate her protective and motherly nature. Shu's being on his ear could highlight how he was the only one Myuki Inaba's voice could reach, and how he won't ignore a plea for help. Ei's being on his neck (a vital area) could be calling back to his history as an assisin in 2188, and his lethal, calculated nature. Tomi's being on her back might be emphasizing her daring bravery and unflinching "backbone". For the rest, I honestly can't come up with anything off the top of my head, lol.

@@ronny_innor Universal Control removed the Tamao avatar from the game to prevent the Tamao in her pod from dying, she’s put cold for a while. If the kaiju destroyed all 5 sectors, the 15 compatible pilots will die at once.

When the sentinel receives a lot of damage it has to be repaired. After a couple of turns you can activate it again and that animation comes out.

Depends. Some have powerful multi kill sentries, others have insane Nukes, some get minions. Though If we are talking pure raw physical strength.... Nenji Ogata, set up right becomes a god of destruction.

When were the battle activations added? I played this on the PS4 and don’t remember them at all.

You only see them if a sentinel gets destroyed and needs to be repaired or you choose to repair it manually. Once it's repaired, they will summon it back like in the video. If you play well enough, you likely won't ever see those since you would never need to repair your sentinels.

Sentinel No. 18 was supposed to be Tamao Kurabe’s Sentinel. Sadly, Universal Control shifted her away from the world before she could fight. So we never got to use Sentinel No. 18. Sentinels 1-9 were remote controlled and lost in the fight in Sectors 1-3.
