No longer do we have to rely GreedFall trailers to get a sense of the game, as now you can see what the game is really like - however, a few things still need explaining so we decided to help you out when you're starting in Teer Fradee.

I notice a lot of people skip the 2nd combat training in the beginning of the game when he asks if you want to go again, many people think it's the same training to try again but it's not. If you choose yes the game will teach you a lot more to the combat. I say this because I've seen bad reviews on Xbox of people complaining about not knowing how to do certain things in combat, when the game teaches you how to do those very things. Lol

Faction armor actually shows you the faction it works on by the icons/heraldry in the item description. It's right by the cost number.

Best advice I can give to new players of this game, start with Lockpicking regardless of your play style. There's a ton of locked chests and doors in the prologue (it's a potentially lengthy prologue if you want to do everything) and you'll get a ton of good items and extra cash from them.

Or, borrow Kurt's starting armor and put it on the protag. It has a Lockpicking+1 attribute. I went with Intuition for the starting talent, to get the extra dialogue choices instead. Win win solution.

helios396 There is also the cheap DLC. I got it. Has a flameingn1 handed sword,Rifle and some flashy stylish equipment. With bonus traits. Another perk,ability bonus to get is one,I forgot the name. To allow you to climb walls. In beginning there are a few places you can,as chests. Charm and one other banch is good if you want more choices in dialouge.

played it for 8 hours straight and im not gonna lie the first couple of missions kinda bored me because all the quests are straight locked into one place in the city..go there, talk to this, talk to that.. almost less combat but after i finished the first sequence and i got to fight the first boss with the root monster like or whatever(or not i dont know) it hyped me a lot, and now that i can roam anywhere thats when i changed my mind and enjoyed the game a lot, so far the combat is quite confusing at first but i discovered that i can change my primary equiped weapon to secondary in combat which is from ring to melee it all make sense now, the pause also help me to plan my next move or when im surrounded with a lots of enemies.. so far the story is quite interesting and theres so many side quests to do. To those people asking if its good, yes it is. ps. i forgot to say theres some bug where i already finished the quest but the arrow and marks on the map still exists and telling me to go there. ps. sorry for my bad english.

I dont nececeraly want to play it all on my own i just prefer to do some of the exploring solo as i find it more emersive, i just dont like it when games force you to have people fommowing you arround and find they sometimes get in the way or require you to micro manage them. Especialy in RPG i like to have the option of playing solo when i want. Thanks for the reply. I think ill be giving this game a go anyway as i remeber seeing the first teaser traler years ago and thought it looked pretty intresting.

I mean, I was playing on extreme as magic wielder. Plan was my squishy mage ass at the back, heavy armour at front as tanks. Imagine my surprise when I found out that not only am I fighting this boss, but solo in my team dependent mage. Kept my range until he nuked me with those spikes, thought I could dodge but took 3 hits (had used health potions) and each time it nearly killed me until I realised my force field parry was enough.

Most important advice not given: SAVE before each major choice. This allows you to go back to an earlier point in the game to nail a trophy. Even if you start with Charisma, you can still get the Cat Burglar trophy using just Serene and New Serene as your locations. It is possible to craft a Sailor outfit with the lockpicking skill, while in Serene. You will need a blacksmith glove, and two materials. The Naut warehouses are a treasure trove of locked containers. Important advice #15: Find the location of skill altars. This allows you to buff skill trees earlier than you would normally be allowed. Advice #16: Game depends so heavily on gear that you need repeatable farming locations. I use the outskirts of Theleme early in the game. Also find out the location of chests with legendary gear.

Vigor also effects your carrying capacity. One very VERY good reason for pursuing a certain Island Princess is when you get her relationship status high enough she automatically grants an additional point of Vigor which can be very useful if you like me are a believer in the old saying better to have it and not need it then need it and have either sold it for gold or left it on the ground in the game world.

Stasis is quite literally the best ability I had in my first playthrough. I also unlocked Storm later on, which relied on Adrenaline rather than Magic, but is very useful for crowd control

I am playing as a full diplomat in this game, I am full carisma and my goal is to avoid any wars between any factions and trying to not kill any inocent people. This is hard as fuck but I use to choose my team mates based on which factions are involved in the current mision because they use to tell me side ways of doing the same quest without hurting their faction relationship, so if I can get to like my decisions for example Siora (natives) and Petros (Thelenne) at the same time then that means I am doing well if that mision involves their both factions. Also I recommend you all have at least one torso armour of each faction to use as disguise every time you need them, I have one armour maxed out and like 5 more stored with worse stats but that I only use to infiltrate in certain missions. I hope this advices helped you, I still have not finished this game but I am really enjoying it :)

Tip 14, for higher difficulties: play the game like a tactical RPG and PAUSE combat often to make decisions, choose your next actions, etc. It could save your life.

Things you REALLY need to know 1: this is absolutely not a triple A game, some animations are not very good, specially walking and facial ones 2: fight is a bit clunky, you gotta get used to it 3: it's complex, don't rush it by doing everything you can as soon as possible, game will give you the chance to do most things during the main quest at the right time 4: be very careful with factions relationships, never underestimate little things, you'll get used to it when it's too late and you will want to restart from some old mistakes

I has been playing with Siora and she's really and really helpful. Just give her good armors and an excellent sword, just give her the best you have in the inventory. She can recover your shields, healing and not only you, the entire team and she's helpful giving you good information about the natives in the island, most of the time you'll be with them, so Siora is the main supporter and the key of you and the team. By th eway, I'm mage and I almost immortal 😂😂 I really recommend it.

When trying to figure out faction armor, on the bottom of the display next to its weight and price may be an icon with a coat of arms on it. That tells you what, if any, faction it counts as a disguise for. When beginning the game I personally recommend charisma or intuition as I was able to find potions all over the place when looting boxes and all quests have multiple possible approaches. Charisma helps you skip some parts of quests or get people to tell you things that normally you have to bribe them for. Intuition can also help out with some dialogue but the biggest thing it does is highlight crafting ingredients and lootable objects.

For all those people asking if the game is good, since it just became free with PS+ The answer isn’t so black and white, as the game has amazing elements and not so amazing elements. Keep in mind, it was an indie team that made this game and that alone makes it fairly breathtaking for what they achieved with their limited budget. The game can be extremely rough around the edges at times. Combat can be stiff and the game doesn’t hand hold at all. It won’t teach you everything you need to know at the start. It’s a lot of trial and error going into it. Leveling can be slow and some quests can take hours to do. It’s not open world, it’s more of a semi-open world similar to the original Dragon Age. Sometimes the world can feel bland and empty, which is something that kind of bugged me at times. There’s really not much to do out in the “open world” it’s more used as a traveling area. There’s plenty of good though. The story and dialogue is pretty damn good. The voice acting for 90% of the time, is actually amazing. I have no idea how they got such good voice actors for such a little budget. The characters (for the most part) are fun and have their own unique personalities. Some quests are really amazing, I can think of at least 5 off the top of my head. Sometimes the side quests are better than the main story quests, they really do shine a lot of the time. Leveling up and getting more armor pieces and weapons, is more fun than a choir. Meeting new characters and choosing dialogue options is also really fun in this game. All in all, it’s worth it even with its shortcomings. Especially when it’s currently free as of writing this.

You can parry projectiles as well. If you parry with certain weapons against certain projectiles, it may still knock you down, but you don’t take damage and usually the projectiles that knock a parry would most likely be quite debilitating I landed.

Advice to choose the skill that allows you to craft potions at the beginning of the game is ill-advised. Most of the beginning of the game you want to have the lockpick skill. Unless you really suck at games or are on a higher difficulty

Idk if it was a patch or not, but I say lockpicking is more important than science as you can craft basic potions without it and there are a lot of lv 1 lockpicking chests in the starting area before going to the island which is good for gearing up. Plus if you're lucky enough to get the material to craft the lockpicking decoration as well as starting with 1 point in lockpicking you'll be able to open lv 2 lockpicking chests right after arriving on the island cause the talent points stack which is quite handy

So some people know armour does have a way to tell what faction it’s in. At the very bottom of its stats (next to price and weight) is a crest of a different faction

You don't need Charisma in the beginning, just go to the shop and buy a cape to wear for a +1. And take Kurt's armor when he joins your party, his armor has a +1 Lockpick. You also do not need to spend your early game points if it's not combat related, and since difficulty modes can be toggled in the menu, if you REALLY want to cheese the starting point (you can't spawn more enemies with hard or extreme mode in tutorial map), go Easy mode in tutorial to trivalize combat for the quick exp gain, and do quests rapidly if you are working on multiple character playthroughs, then go back to normal when you get to New Serena (Or Hard, since the game becomes easy once you get to lv15 early on by spamming arena).

So, this is an old vid, but I see comments from 4 months ago, thus ppl still check it. My own tips would be (some are as noob as it gets, so no hate please ;) ) 1. Companion management - in a lot of situations, you can skip needing a particular skill if having the right companion for the situation. That goes for charisma/intuition in dialogues or science/craft in other situations, at least from what I encountered. 1b. Siora is probably one of the most useful companions, because you are dealing with the natives A LOT. Petrus is also very helpful in a lot of situations. In general, try to match the companion to the faction you are dealing with. 1c. It's generally a good idea to do companion quests as soon as you acquire them. 2. I did the full fight tutorial but it still took me half the game before I realised how to switch weapons X_x for PC, default is "V" 3. You can tell what faction an outfit belongs to by the tiny icon next to its' price. Blue/green is Bridge Alliance, red with yellow circle is Theleme, i think blue-white with fancy icon is Guards, blue white with golden coins is Congregation, Nauts I now don't rememeber exactly but sailor gear in general, and native gear is fairly obvious. Also, be aware, that in some missions you need to disguise the whole party, not just De Sardet. 4. Magic is OP XD 5. Upgrading armour: don't make the mistake I did (a stoopid one, yeah, but I did say those were noob tips) - putting the centerpiece on your companions' armor, the one that adds skill. It's a wasted resource, unless you plan on switching those armors onto yourself, in which case, remember, that you need Endurance for heavier ones.

Lol science as the first pick is crazy, the vigour or lockpickingskill are far more useful early on, but the biggest tip you failed to mention is to pay attention to the companions friendship bonuses, as some of them save you points, like the healer who also can give you +1 vigour just for being friendly to one another.

Does it make sense to couple the magic and the roque class? I dont see a really good synergy regarding the skills... Both classes have a roll/dodge...both classes can shoot (missiles or bullets)... which means they are pretty similar. I welcome any good ideas since I love to play magic-archers, arcane roques and other classes like that. I look forward to play this great game! Gonna start my playthough tomorrow :-)

Ooh, I don't like it when games use subtle audio cues with no visual equivalent. It's not good in a noisy environment, or if you're.. ya know, deaf. Seems to be something more & more games are doing though, perhaps simply to mix it up from the mainly visual style of the past?

Charisma over science the numbers of times u can sweet talk ur way into a situation plus pick up extra reputation points cuz at the end of the day we’re supposed to be diplomats.

You can spam the dodge and parry buttons and you will never take direct damage. For Playstation, alternate x and o. Only AOE's can hit you. I learned this as I was on the last two quests on Extreme - the one with the corrupted guardians that kills you in 1-2 hits.

Wrong about the disguises, it states via a picture in the description what faction it works for.

which faction a piece of armor belongs to can be seen in its stat window, left next to its coin value and weight. The only thing bothering me about this is that you need to know what symbol belongs to which faction, it tells you nowhere except if you learn it from playing the game.

How do I use alchemical potions/poisons? I have a ton of them and can’t even assign them to the quick pause menu. I know it’s something silly I’m missing.
