I like the idea that some questions will make people angry at you. In RPGs I will often do every possible conversation option so that I don't miss anything, but that can make you ask stuff that is rude or makes no sense for your character to say

Greedfall is great from what I have played so far. It's a bit clunky and it's obvious it had no where near the budget of say the Witcher 3, that doesn't mean it's not a good game however.

So far my biggest irritations with it are like she said in the video fights are repetitive combat really needs some more complexity. My other big issue is the disguise system does make sense but it's a little to over powered guards in an area don't think twice about you picking the lock on chests right in front of them, and when you first go to New Serene the Harbormaster building has a locked door that you can either use a key or level 2 in picklock to open it, if you go around the corner of the building though there is a weakened wall you can blow up using science 1 and there is a guard nearby the wall that as long as your wearing a sailors armor shows absolutely no reaction to the fact you have just blown a hole in the wall.

It's a little bit finicky. Sometimes I'll use it and nothing will happen. I'm not sure if it's a distance thing, a bug, or something else. In the heat of battle it can be hard to gauge what's happening.

About that disguise system, you have faction icons on every chest piece in the bottom right (when you examine it in your invetory). This is how you'll easily see which faction owns it.

I just wish that when you mouse over the icon, it would tell you which faction. I have no idea what a squiggly little bar on a shield means.

That would be good, but it isn't that difficult to realize, check your companion's equipment, or go to a merchant in a city faction, they would sell equipment from their faction and not the others.

Costumes/disguises are definitely shown in inventory, by the symbol in the inventory screen when you look at armors

So far as a charismatic magic user playthrough I've managed to get no negative companion and faction points. The equipment you get from factions changing to friendly is amazing. I got a 500 plus damage 2 hand sword with lots of nice stats. . . That I can't bloody use as I'm a magic user. 😂😂😂

I'm the opposite lol just started yesterday, but not going into charisma or magic. I'm not charismatic so it feels weird, but I am fairly diplomatic so it balances out. I enjoy like having elements of myself in a character. For someone reason, I always enjoyed no magic characters

I've been personally loving this game I'm sure with a sequel and bigger budget so much more could be added but as it stands alone it is fantastic, one of the best rpgs I've played for sometime now. I have it on pc and only bug I've had is sometimes an npc talks with there eyes closed lol. Magic is fun but could of used more spells mix magic with sword play though and the combat really does feel satisfying. Voice acting is also great!

I don't like how you can't unequip weapons without switching them and that you don't have the option to hide your headgear. I'm not exactly a hat person, but I wouldn't mind the stats. As for the weapon thing, I only typically use one weapon as a tactical class; I start out with a couple gun-shots, lay out some traps as I dodge, and hack and slash my way through enemy after enemy, I very rarely switch melee weapons mid-combat and it would be nice to have a little extra inventory space. Those are more of nit-picks than anything else, but I feel like they can be dealt with with updates or mods.

The fact switching between companions is so easy and that there allot of motivation and incentive to switch charachters. In ended up playing with all of them for a good bit. Which I've never done in a game like this.

You don't need the alchemsist skill to get the sleeping potion, you can buy quest items from merchants too.

Yes, you do see the same animal enemies repeatedly, but there are more than the bears and bats. 1. Ulgs and Valeigs (bears) 2. Andrígs and Dantríg (horned-ram like creatures) 3. Dosantats (bats) 4. Tenlans and Yorglans (scaly creatures, the ones that like to spin and attack) 5. Lewolans, Lewoilgs, and Lanvras (the big creatures, some of them looked like big salamanders)

I hope the devs sticks with it like the Assassin's Creed Odyssey devs are doing I'd love for it to have updated content and maybe some day a dlc that let's you pick up after the main story where you'll have to deal with the consequences of our choices... And hopefully it would extend companion interactions and expand upon whatever relationships you have left by the end of the main story

this game seems more like a grower. really great potential that hasnt been yet fully realized but could be with future patching, updates and additional content. also it's got a page on nexusmods now so maybe it'll be like most bethesda games and be just okay until the modders get to it and then it becomes Amazing. *crosses fingers and toes

Not obvious, though. Nothing tells you this is where the icon is, you have to either google it or just get lucky. An obvious marker would be something you can't miss, like "Coin Guard disguise written in the description.

On the topic of disguises, some chest armors have a small shield with a faction symbol on it in the lower right corner of the description. These are the items that cam be used as disguises. Of course the game expects you to memorize which symbol corresponds to which faction.

Funniest bug I have seen so far is when Vasco tells the guy carrying the crate to carry it correctly and then the guy trips and falls dropping the crate and breaking whats inside, The guy was bugged so he really was carrying the crate incorrectly as the crate was floating about 3 feet above his hands.

U can heal it companions, the last point spent on the health icon allows u to heal them in combat as a magic user or strategist. I heal my companions all the time.

The game is definitely growing on me. I was having a problem with quests, mainly that it felt that I didn't have much of a choice most of the time. There was one particularly bad one where I *was* presented with choices, only the game wouldn't let me make them - conversations would continue cutscene-like, without me being able to do anything about it. It felt particularly disappointing, because the ideas behind the quests were pretty solid and interesting, but the execution... bleh. And then, the very next day, the very next quest I picked up had me go "Wow. That's what I was waiting for." I think the game is totally worth it despite the flaws, and I hope the studio gets enough recognition and profits from it so they would make another one in the same universe.

The gripes people have with GreedFall can be solved with one simple solution: Give Spiders more money. Honestly, with a bigger budget and more development time, I'm pretty sure GreedFall would have been phenomenal. But it's already pretty good as it is.

I fully approve of these points. I have had the same experience so far. Well, one more thing I really don't like: waist-high invisible fences everywhere. Some places you can go through in a straight line, some others... Nope. That bush or this stone are impassable. Or that space between two trees is really too small to fit into. That being said, I'm still playing. And enjoying it. I have been looking for a "Renaissance"-themed RPG for a long time and GreedFall fully meet my expectations. Oh, and that bat-thing at 11:02 which doesn't want to fight? I believe I have met it, next to the (spoiler) ruins on the other side of the iron mines.

If they make a sequel, they should use an upgrade system that's similar to Skyrims. Use guns enough and you unlock more abilities. Use 1 handed blades more and you improve your stats. I hate not being able to get past an area because my science talent is not level 3 or I cant use this weapon because my agility is level 1 and not level 3.

2:33 actually faction armor(specifically the chest pieces) have the Faction symbol in the lower right next to Gold Coin Value and Weight. Crossed weapons on a black background are the Coin Guard, Blue-ish Green and Yellow are the Bridge Alliance, Red with a stenciled sun in the middle is Theleme. White with a blue upside V is the Congregation of Merchants, Blue is the Nauts and Black with a white spiral are the Natives of Teer Fradee. Also the Talent is "Science" not "Alchemist".

GF and Metro Exodus are GOTY!.., even if both are not "perfect" and GF clearly has a smaller budget than Biowares.. both games show so much love .. and both are well balanced on higher difficulty settings.. (just in GF at lv 1, don't start fights till lv 2 or use stealth kills as much as possible till lv 2-3)

I agree with all the good and the bad points (though, there are potions that you can use to help your companions) . The story and characters rock - so, far I'm playing a warrior that tries to be as morally right as possible. I sneak, dress, or talk my way into everything (I've rarely killed any humans that weren't bandits)- none of the factions hate me (the church one might eventually - they're awful!). But the natives love me! It's not a bad point but an interesting one - I like how you actually have to plan your leveling up. I made some bad choices, butut those memory crystals re the bomb!

There’s a game breaking glitch that won’t allow you to progress pass the “trial of the waters” main quest. Story bricked after a lot of play. If you’re going to play research how to get around it first.
