Thrombosis and Embolism
Thrombosis and embolism are two interconnected processes in which blood clot formation and migration play pivotal roles in various pathological conditions. Common sites of embolism include the pulmonary arteries (pulmonary embolism) and cerebral circulation (cerebral embolism), which can result in life-threatening consequences such as myocardial infarction or stroke.
