Very good tips! I actually agreed on all of them I must say. I was on a trip with an old friend recently and one thing I wish we talked about before was the budget. We don't share a budget, but I didn't want to live in a freshly dug hole on some beach where I was food for bugs and rats just because it was 500 baht cheaper than a normal hotel room. Or waste time every day finding a cheaper taxi. To me, time is money, so it was frustrating. While I obviously understood him. I'm quite shy, but chose to be more social if only to say hello to strangers because it really opens up situations. Nobody thinks you're crazy because you say hello. :) Good video as always!

Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed the video! 😊 Yes it can be tough finding good compromises with your travel partner and budget is probably one of the most difficult topics! In the end it always comes down to good communication 🙂

I have been to about 34 countries and my longest period of travel was during the pandemic when my job allowed me to “work” 😂 from home so I made that “home” in different countries in my same time zone. Great advice overall and I agree one should take a holiday from your holiday if that makes any sense. Sometimes you are just tired from maybe a big hike or walking a lot the day prior and a day of rest is surely needed.

You guys make nice videos with clearly delivered narration. What has been your favorite country so far and what are some countries you still wish to visit? 😊

Thank you very much! 😊 That's always the toughest question to answer 😁 In general we'll always be drawn to travelling in Asia, as we enjoy the cultures and cuisines there a lot! We always feel at home in Thailand, so that's definitely high up on our list. We also really want to return to India, especially because the food is probably our favourite overall. Last year we also really enjoyed Malaysia and Singapore, so we want to return soon as well. In terms of new countries we're planning to visit Central and South America soon, probably starting with Colombia and Costa Rica 🙂

Great tips, I am especially happy to hear about the wellbeing ones. I was a bit to hard on myself and I hit a breaking point in new Zealand. The scare of missing out was killing me. I started questioning why I was doing the hikes I did, was I really enjoying it ? The pressure of all the traveler telling me about the stuff they did made me always question if what I was doing was enough. I took a long break trying to work on self satisfaction

Thank you for sharing! These kind of negative experiences while travelling are probably a necessary part of figuring out we want to travel. It's easy to get influenced by other travellers or social media, especially when you're already overwhelmed by so many new experiences on the road. And it's easy to fall into a negative mindset fuelled by FOMO, which feels especially weird while travelling. Ultimately, there's no right or wrong way to travel, so we'd rather see less and enjoy it than be stressed all the time.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! 😊 That's a good question! In general travelling has made us prioritise travel and experiences much more in our lives. So when it comes to saving and spending money we like to put our main focus on travelling and less on bigger investments back home (car etc.). Travelling for longer periods of time has also shown that we don't actually need a lot of physical things. We now try to sell "unnecessary" belongings and think twice before purchasing something (although this can be easier said than done 😅). It's a cliché, but travelling has really impacted the way we think about the world, because it gives you the opportunity to explore life outside of the little bubble back home. And of course it has also expanded our love for a variety of cuisines and foods, which we especially enjoy 😁
