The second story really got to me. On a really uncomfortable level. The second you said that "naked knees" part I felt sick to my stomach. Something about it felt horrifically familiar. Not to imply that I ever had a run in with that person, I've never been to Arizona, let alone that school. But still, after hearing that, I can't help but be worried I did have a run in with someone similar
@NameUnimportant Жыл бұрын
I had 2-3 male teachers like that from junior high through high school. When I was in HS and in a math class taught by the varsity basketball coach (a VERRY highly regarded sports figure in our city/county, so he was basically a saint) told me he'd allow me to skip the final if I did a cartwheel for him in the gym. I was a well-known athlete at the school and was friends with most of the bb team so I knew it wasn't for them. It was for him. I told my mom and she said, "well, are you going to fail the final if you take it? If so, you better practice your cartwheels". It's not funny and it wasn't funny then but it kind of was. That's how my mom was/is and that's how she taught me to be. Not to allow things like that to ruin me for life and to use them to my advantage. There were a number of things that this coach did to myself and a friend of mine as we decided to be his TAs in junior and senior years bc we knew he would t care if we skipped his class daily. This was in the late 90s/early 00s so things were a lot different. Being taught by my mom not to be so sensitive to things like that (whether it be right or wrong in this particular day and age) saved me from a lot of mental trauma and also got me ahead in certain areas of life. Not that it's the right thing. It just is what it was.

@binaryfairy4197Ай бұрын
@@bohbuonocore6383 The guy didn't try to break in, he was obviously homeless & very mentally disturbed. He brought the guitar case to the front door & obviously didn't think about putting his hand on the front door knob. He didn't try to break in, or ever see him again! In the end, ALL that matters is that he returned the guitar case & left. Most likely his wounds were self inflicted..in the end he just wanted 2 leave the guitar case for the boy. Geez that writer was SO DRAMATIC and ungrateful! Like another person commented "oh no he knows where you live, he might find your keys or something & return them too" That writer NEEDED to effing grow up! It's been a long time so hopefully he's learned about having empathy for others who are like that down-and-out like that man.
@binaryfairy4197Ай бұрын
@@---kr3zg If he was a serial killer, why wouldn't he have broken into that house and tried to kill somebody? You're right, he was obviously mentally disturbed & homeless..his hands were bleeding-most likely self inflicted wounds. He saw the boy running & dropped the guitar case, so he followed him home & left it @the front door. Then, bc he's obviously mentally ill and sad, he didn't think he was being creepy by putting his hand on the front door knob...bc like you said, maybe he just wanted to give the boy his case & talk to him. The proof is in the story-he didn't hurt anyone. He was the only person who was hurting 😢

"...can sometimes block out memories..." It's actually more like the brain cannot synthesise the traumatic experience "correctly." This leads to "fractured memory" or memory blanks and mixed up chronology of events. It's actually rare to find a person with trauma of this kind who can remember every detail from start to finish without blanks. Especially if they were hurt as children. This is also what makes recognising triggers and the trauma response associated with them so difficult to grasp and understand in real time, because your body is remembering the connection, but your conscious mind is not.

The charismatic band teacher charmed students and parents alike. He won music competitions and teaching honors. He worked late, coached volleyball and mentored kids. Soo many of these stories are women who feel way too safe and trusting with men. You cannot be too paranoid when it comes to strange men, ladies. Be careful 😭

It sounds as if these were sent in to you? These remind me of “A day in the life of a female” if men ever think we over exaggerate how some men act & how we have to deal with it, this is a great example. It’s eerie how similar all of our stories are & sad that we, as women, have to be put in these situations in the first place. :( I love listening, though, it’s my new thing as I go to sleep, not the stories, you’ve got a great voice! Thanks!

No, no! It doesn’t make me drowsy nor sleepy, I’m very wired, if I get distracted, I rewind it and catch the spot I was distracted and go right back to listening. And I remember all the stories. But I do feel rested after I had enough and I go the bed. I love, love the channel and love the narrator’s voice.
