Hey Everyone, thanks for watching. Which of the watches mentioned was your favorite? Also, quick typo correction, the Lorier has a plexiglass NOT a sapphire crystal. This is commonly used in their watches across the board for more vintage appeal.

What I love about PRX, it looks so much like Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust 17000 ( a goal watch of mine)...so i can get something similar for much cheaper. Also I believe the Datejust was designed by Genta!

The Zelos Nova Aventurine is a nice micro brand watch I had no idea about and really want to see if I can get my hands on one to add to my collection. I just picked up a Tudor Heritage 1926 M91550-0005 and would love to see you do a review on it . Thanks Teddy for all the knowledge on this channel, as I could not have started building a collection without it.

This. That is why you buy the watches you really want and you can afford. If you like watches you will wear, can afford now, and will have no problems replacing anytime, affordable watches is you jam. If you are into collecting, history, prestige, and mostly just looking at your watches most of the time, and have a deeper pocket, then definitely buy from the big houses. It is your prerogative what you wear. If people notice you wear a pro-diver and judges you by it, then they are not even worth knowing. I want to introduce a new type of collector: The 2-watch collector. One beater, and one super watch you'd have to save for years. Just so when someone judges you by your beater watch, you can shut them up with the super high-end one. Lol!

@@Sandouras That doesn't answer the question. You said models costing 8-10,000 euros have ETA movement. Which models are these specifically? And don't move the goalposts again. In fact, very few of their models are even at the price point, aside from some special editions and precious metal variants. But actual regular production models? No. The Portugiesers are in-house. The Portofino 8-day handwound (in your price range) is in-house. Big pilot Annual Calendar Spitfire (in your price range) is in-house. Big Pilot 8-days, in-house. The only ETA-based SS models are well below your price range (Aquatimer, which is 300M WR by the way, Ingenieur, Mark XVIII, etc.). And let's not forget about the other aspects of the watch. It's not just the movement. Did you consider build quality? How about finishing?

Great video. I would add the Glycine Combat Sub. It represents quite the value at the current street price. I recently purchased the GL0092 version for $315. Last week, I visited a watch repair shop to get a battery for one of my quartz divers. I was wearing the Glycine and the proprietor of the shop congratulated me on my "nice Tudor Heritage Black Bay". The appearance of the two time pieces are quite similar. I've been impressed with everything about the Combat Sub, especially the case thinness and the finishes. It looks and feels more expensive than it is.

You may also consider the MIDO Ocean Star 600, which is a mid-range priced swiss made watch with 80 hours of power reserve, a ceramic bezel, a comfy and well made bracelet, a stunning sapphire crystal, 600 meters of water resistance, and an absolutely amazing finishing...for about 1500USD ! And it really seems as beautifully made and finished as a 3k USD watch, in my humble opinion.

Teddy already mentioned the brand for having nice finishing, nicely done bracelets. You forgot to mention it's also a Chronometer. The Omega 300m (in blue) is great. I think its a wonderful complimentary piece to a collection, and you still have the room to get/have a Sub or GMT Master II in your collection. The BB58, just isn’t as nice as the Omega 300m. Also, the JLC is amazing, but the Reverso takes too much of the conversation for that brand. They make some fantastic watches that aren’t Reversos.

Great video again, Teddy. Really agree with a lot of the watches you had here. Biggest miss on this list, in my opinion, is the Tissot Heritage 1948 Chronograph. It definitely is more than the sum of it's parts. The Baltic - I have the Aquascaphe and a couple "kinda" watch people remarked at how expensive it looks compared to the price. Omega Seamaster Diver 300 has always been a "no brainer" to me vs. something like Rolex. Great pick. I went for the Planet Ocean when I bought mine but only because the price difference wasn't huge at the time and it was more the one for me when I put it on. Seeing Grand Seiko in person, they look like absolute jewels in the case at the shop. Quite special.

Orient Bambini of course. Longines Master Moonphase. Zelos Swordfish. Just got my first Richard LeGrand because of you Teddy and I'm impressed. I hate saying it but Invicta Pro Diver. At least looks more expensive until you handle one. And I actually agree with the Omega Seamaster bit. But I'll throw in the Aqua Terra.

CW watches are amazing, and basically started the microbrand movement 15 years ago. But since they've been leading the charge, they've also been improving quality, finish and moving upmarket. They're all over $1000 now, so...starting to move out of the more mass microbrand territory (but deservedly so).

@@junwoojang2941 exactly. they've stepped it up and are like the elder statesman of the microbrand movement these days. there's a good case to be made that they've actually moved away from that category and firmly into the more established brands now, alongside Bremont and the like.

A tank with giant tumor on the side of it. I get HEV legitimizes it as a true diver but come on, integrate that tumor into the case like the Pelagos and I'd be all over it. 300 handset is not my favorite thing either. So in short, I hate it, but it's got potential.
@stevecatalano9856
@stevecatalano9856 3 жыл бұрын
Before I purchased the Seamaster 300 I also hated the HEV but once I gave in and got the piece, it no longer bothers me. I don’t even realize it’s there when wearing it. But it is an expensive piece to have something on it that many people can’t get past. I agree they should build it into the watch, but everyone knows it’s an Omega with it.

Glycine is another one that fits this category (pick your line). Ever since Invicta bought them; many have written them off. What they don't understand is that Invicta has left them alone in the design/quality aspect. Thus, Glycine is able to offer their products at lower prices because of Invicta's financial backing.

Hi Teddy. I follow with great interest all your videos, because apart from teaching and guiding, they make you ask yourself questions. And I have one that I don't know if you will answer: What makes a Rolex Submariner better than an Omega Seamaster 300 m? What is the key point? I'm not talking about aesthetics, or brand name. Only from a technical, mechanical point of view.
