Looking at that landscape with the bison in their natural habitat makes me think of the Native Americans that lived off of that land in harmony with it. It was inevitable that it had to end but it still makes me a little sad. I know you had a great time. Love your channel.

Most tribes have their own herds of buffalo now. Cheyenne River in South Dakota and Standing Rock where I'm from has privately owned buffalo ranches but they're on the reservation. So they're slowly bringing them back. They're more suited to be able to get through the winter on the northern Plains. Cattle often freeze to death during blizzards but bison are Ice Age animals.

My parents witnessed this very round-up in the early 1990's while traveling in their new Winnebago. As my father was describing it to my family his eyes welled up and teared up as he described them coming over the hills where you are...it was awe inspiring! I shared your video with my grandchildren since my parents are no longer with us, but remembered him describing the awesomeness of witnessing it...I hope it touches your heart for the rest of your life my friend!

What a great video! We discovered Custer State Park a number of years ago and it's one of our favorite places to go hang out. We have seen a lot of bison but have never been there for the roundup. I think we have driven on all the roads in the park and seen a lot of animals. There is so much to see and do in this part of South Dakota. We were fortunate enough a few years ago to see the bison roundup at the Bison Range in Montana.
