Hi, i'm from Italy, and i have the 2.7 CRD turbo diesel one. My underside is perfect no rust, i think because they put a grafite coating to protect form salt. The rust problems are on the roof, specially around the sunroof. I like the way you solved the problem! I love this car and i wish you keep making video about it! Have a good day

Thanks for watching! Over here in the upper US unfortunately they use brine/salt mix and it just destroys vehicles if you don't have them oiled underneath. This one is going to get wire brushed and caked with oil here shortly!

Nice to see an old WJ getting some love! Incredible work on the rockers holy cow

@@ascendantrobin3230 Love me my WJ's. Thanks a lot! I admit I half assed the rockers job, they could've turned out seamless but it would've been double the time involved

Welding tip Start with a CLEAN SURFACE get yourself a sheep poker ( wire wheel ) and a flap disc 80 grit and clean those parts Before you weld them And use some primer paint to seal the surface before you cover it up if you have any hopes of it lasting longer than a year

@@wjonthetrailI primed everything I did. The rocker panels are getting oiled to prevent them from any further rust and to protect anything inside. That's the only way to save stuff up north in the snow belt

IF YOU GUYS CAN PLEASE LIKE THE NEW UPLOAD, original upload cut off the last 15 minutes of the dang video for some reason! Corrupted files, I don't know. This is the good one!

The reason you welder would not fire off when you try to start your ark Is it can’t make contact through the rust It’s just that simple CLEAN YOUR WORK or use a stick welder with 6011 so you can burn through it And you should know this technique doesn’t work on thin rusty metal it just blows through You can make your life easier by simply cleaning your work The job will look much more professional and last much longer

@@wjonthetrail wasn't possible to clean the rear bumper section to be welded up better with the grinder I had. Just bought a small air grinder for next time. It is what it is. I'm not a welder by any means, I've only done it for body work purposes when I've needed to because I bought one. Still learning how to use it🙃

Nice WJ. Noticed that the transfer case seems to be using ATF. That's not the correct fluid for that transfer case, mopar 05016796AB or other Oil that complies with MS-10216 should be used, or improper operation and premature failure will occur. You should also check the power steering reservoir as the pump also uses a special fluid, Mopar 04883077 Hydraulic fluid or other that complies with MS-5931. If the correct fluid is not used it will prematurely damage the power steering and the hydraulic fan.
@HeiseyMotors3 ай бұрын
@@carlosazevedo1790 you noticed wrong. The bottle I had to check the t case (it was full) was specifically Mopar t case fluid. The power steering fluid however was not correct
@carlosazevedo17903 ай бұрын
@@HeiseyMotors Cool, thats very good news. When I saw the video it looked like it had an red tint associated with ATF as the correct fluid is more yellowish, but that was probably due to the angle it was filmed.

Do you have a link for the headlights? I have an 04 limited im doing all the same things to, (bts 2" springs, bilstien shocks, and all the control arms with isolators). I feel like the lights really set it off, using the same wk2 wheels too!
@HeiseyMotors3 ай бұрын
@@bigtony8978 They're just from Amazon. Honestly they are not worth the money and here's why... I can't remember if it's the high or low beam but one of the bulbs required needs to be shorter or "fanless" if you're using LED's because the rubber boot plug on the back to seal the headlights will not fit over normal LEDs with fans, which they're supposed to freakin have. Another thing is my driver side headlight I can adjust the beam up and down, passenger side did nothing. For the amount of money I spent on these, they should f***in work perfect. They look good, the function is stupid and overpriced. The blacked out normal halo headlights look just as good if not better

@@bigtony8978 you might get luckier than I did but I think multiple companies make those, I'm willing to bet they're all China crap though. I've retrofitted headlights before so I'm sure to recoup my money I'll be tearing into this to fix the adjuster
