Great list and advice there. For me though, the first thing to do is make sure all the maintenance is up to date and any necessary dependability upgrades are done before starting to mod. There's no point in having a super capable build if it's going to die and leave you stranded on the trail.

A good option for wheels and tires is wrangler jl or gladiator mt takeoffs. They come with a great mt right off the bat and a wheel that looks awesome on a wj

I love my wj, lm going to a rough country 4 inch long arm and I’m thinking I will wheel and beat on the factory axles and once I’m long armed and got a stout drivetrain I will go to tons or beefed up jk44 front and wj44a in the rear with a locker and 4:10s. I love the wj and it’s a reliable daily and off-roader

I believe the jk axles are wider than the WJ axles so might look weird if you put them together

@@ROCKY_TV if that’s they case I might run a spacer in the rear, otherwise jk Dana 44 rear doesn’t sound to bad wither

You can pick them up for pretty cheap and they’re better than the 44a plus more aftermarket support
@zanemeyers164 Жыл бұрын
Yeah you do not wan the 44a with a jk 44 because 44a parts are way more expensive and the housing is aluminum so you can weld to them at all
@zanemeyers164 Жыл бұрын
Oh and the jk axels are exactly 2 inches wider with a bigger diameter brake, meaning either you HAVE to get 17s for the jk or just have a mush smaller brake in the rear

One of the things you should consider doing as well is some nice maintenance mods like a viper coil pack and 4-hole injectors from K-suspension. Either make your own bumper or go with either HK-Offroad or D.till fabworks bumpers. If you do long arms, avoid the rough country ones. They ride great but I have already destroyed the bushings after just 1 year and less then 5k miles

Yeah, I put 4-hole injectors from K-Suspension on my WJ. I noticed better response and smoother idle. I was getting the heat soak problem on #3 so I also put in the DE heat shields. Now no problems!

So glad to hear this. I will eventually upgrade but, think for now due to cost I would rather not. Just gonna keep the off-roading light for now. Maybe some light rocks and trails. :)

5:50 you mentioned that 5-88 are the ideal ratio, but I think you meant to say 4-88. 🤙

One thing that really hurts the wj is you cant put plywood in the back it has to be at a crazy angle or on the roof .
