Felt some type of way as I saw all the posts celebrating yesterdays inauguration. Yup, just another haole dude put in charge of stolen lands. And on it goes...

"prejudice against caucasians" You are the oppressor! You can't be the victim at the same time! And he just starts interrupting immediately. He doesn't want to learn, he wants her to be quiet. Can't even pretend to respect her for 5 minutes.

Settler colonizers love to claim being the victim. You can't colonize other people, and then play the victim. That's not how that works.

In a poem titled, "Racist White Woman," Trask wrote: "I could kick/Your face, puncture/Both eyes./You deserve this kind/Of violence./No more vicious/Tongues, obscene/Lies./Just a knife/Slitting your tight/Little heart." In her 1999 book, From A Native Daughter, Trask wrote: "Just as … all exploited peoples are justified in feeling hostile and resentful toward those who exploit them, so we Hawaiians are justified in such feelings toward the haole. This is the legacy of racism, of colonialism."

I'm a white American who has lived abroad for almost 20 years. I have traveled much of the country and the world, including places we've bombed into the stone age. I've spent time in indigenous communities in the Southwest and Northwest, where there was certainly anti-white sentiment (justified), but where I was also always treated with a baseline of respect. This goes for so many countries I've been to where the US has at times been the villain. Is Hawaii different? I've heard that many native Hawaiians have zero time for haoles, that the antipathy can be quite fierce. I supposed if I was invited into the community (as I was with Native Americans) it could be different, but if I roll up alone into a Hawaiian space as a white dude I can expect a very cold shoulder. This is one of the reasons I've never been to Hawaii. I've heard that, outside of tourist pockets, its very unwelcoming.

@@tharp42 Clearly if you come with this “I’ve been welcomed by others we’ve wronged, but I doubt you’re gracious enough to be welcoming as well” attitude, we’ll feel that energy from you & return it. We aren’t obligated to be welcoming to you or anyone, especially while we’re still illegally occupied by your people. That’s the difference between those who have welcomed you and us, they’ve received reparations and are no longer under attack by your people, WE are still illegally occupied by your people, still being stollen from by your people, still having w*r crimes committed against us by your people, still heavily appropriated, exploited & commodified by your people. Those others are not. So if we’re not “welcoming” to you lol, it’s because your people haven’t stopped oppressing us yet & given us time to heal & forgive… IF we choose to forgive, which is OUR right to determine, not yours or anyone else who has been wronged by your people.

@@The.Hawaiian.Kingdom Thank you for reminding me why I have zero interest in visiting Hawaii. And no, the Native Americans I've spent time with didn't receive shit for reparations from "my people." They just chose not to live wallowing in perpetual victimhood while also being very frank about both history and the present. Good luck with that 10 ton chip on your shoulder...

@@tharp42 And thank YOU for displaying the entitled American mentality that Americans are famous for, and proving me right. Why is “my people” is quotations? Do you not claim your American citizenship despite previously admitting to being American 🤔? You can lie and say Native Americans haven’t gotten reparations… as they live on reservations where they own land, but let me remind you that the one and only thing Hawaiians have that resembles that is the ability to LEASE (rent) our stollen lands back from the U.S…. & that’s if we’re lucky, most of us spend our lives waiting on a list for that “privilege” for decades and die never getting it AND that’s after the U.S. imposed a racist 50% blood quantum… by comparison Native Americans originally only needed 1/32 native blood & it has since been lowered in most cases to 1/16 now. For Hawaiians, it only takes interbreeding ONE ☝🏽 time to be disqualified… again, this is just for the “privilege” to RENT our lands, we never own them, the U.S. keeps illegal clouded titles to OUR lands that we hold INALIENABLE (meaning unsellable) land patents for that the U.S. illegally ignores So yeah, we’re not fans of Americans, why should we be? That’s like expecting Jews to tolerate Nazi’s in their homes, uninvited no less. You should go to my profiles “about” section and follow the links (to credible international law organizations and a UN Independent expert) and learn why you’re not welcomed in our illegally occupied country. I’ll give you a clue: *Article 49 of the IV Geneva Convention* which states: _“The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.”_ So despite your silly immature entitled claims of not wanting to come here, the REAL issue is that Americans being in The Hawaiian Kingdom is a violation of international humanitarian law.

@@The.Hawaiian.Kingdom thank you for taking him to school!! The cognitive dissonance and sheer unwillingness to face up to what they know they have done BLOWS MY MIND. The only self defense they will ever have is to throw out the “victim blame game card” it is the worst form of gaslighting but we deal with it on a daily basis here on the mainland as people of color. As someone whose family comes from a “territory” that the American Empire is still occupying. (Puerto Rico) I stand in full solidarity with the Hawaiian people.🫶🏾🙌🏾🤝

@noeau mahalo for posting all these videos! As an educated Kanaka I am truly grateful to see and learn from people like HKT about the truth of Hawaii and matters as they stand. It really saddens my the more I peel the onion about the history of our people and the nation our kupuna had amd hie much of our indigenous culture was lost in such a short time. But I am grateful for these clips, because it’s like once you know, once you feel it in your naʻau, you can’t un-know it. And that fires me up to see to changes in the future for the betterment if all Hawaiʻi

close down all the golf courses and let the native Hawaiians live there. There are like 60 golf courses on big island alone. Plenty of room and resources for sustaining and supporting native Hawaiians and their pursuit of happiness and fulfillment. It's not a perfect solution but it would take the sting out of losing the islands if land can be preserved for native lifestyles.

I appreciate the sentiment, but we didn’t “lose” the islands, our Internationally recognized Sovereign Nation was illegally invaded, fraudulently annexed and CONTINUES to be illegally occupied. These are w*r crimes… not a simple “losing” of islands. We know where our Kingdom is, it’s not lost… and because there’s no statute of limitations on w*r crimes, it never will be.

And the white man proposed global genocide to most native people. Slaughter Native Americans, skinned Aboriginals, capture africans for slaves. Furthermore, colonized many indigenous lands: Puerto Rico, Guam, and native land. Thomas Jefferson killed more Native Americans than any U.S. president. In fact, he even said, "We shall exterminate them. All the way to the Mississippi River."
