What a lovely relaxing video. Pleasant views along the way, and how you kept the camera so steady walking along and chatting was excellent. I also know the River Trent too, from walks in the past, not far from Carlton when visiting a friend nearby.

Glad you enjoyed it. I've had some practise with that camerawork now so I'm managing to keep those shots fairly steady most of the time. Many thanks for commenting and for taking the time to watch 😀

Always good to be with you Patrick. A bit of a low level rural ramble today and a very nice one to. I agree it's been a very odd time with contradictions everywhere. I mean strict rules in supermarkets and drunk folk in the bars. Strange! Any way at least you found yourself back out here after 4 months fairly in tact. Well, a nice surprise to see you climb the gate as instructed by my good self and Olly. Thanks for the mention. Lastly, it was good to see you walk the river. So peaceful! Thanks Patrick. That was a simple yet good one. Mark
@solitaryrambler4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, good to be out there again. Yes a very low level walk but I love those two villages. We'll start to see a few more hills again after this as I'm trying to capture the gradual change in the Derbyshire countryside as we travel north. I have been out on lots of local walks druing lockdown, but they were all without the camera. I always like to give credit where credit is due Mark, so when I encountered that gate I thought of you and Olly straight away! :) I've been told the landowner has installed a stile there since I did this walk. It was a nice walk beside the River Trent, not somewhere I walk very often. Well thanks for watching Mark and always good to have you on board too. All the best. Cheers, Patrick :)

@@solitaryrambler I could see your joy Patrick. I look forward to the hills and the observations you're suggesting. I know you'll present it all well. Hey, you and me both - always lend credit where it's right to do so. Olly to - that's great! The river Trent looks broad-a lovely river. I bet it's source is fine. As you know always a pleasure. Have a great week.

What a lovely relaxed work and great to see some of Derbyshire. I think the lockdown put a strain on most people and we didn't realise the freedom we had, until it was taken away. I eat at a restaurant in Gainsborough that sits on the banks of the Trent, it's a very wide river and great for fishing, so nice to see it further afield. A pleasure to see you out and about again, cheers.

This was a nice walk to film as it was generally flat, typical of South Derbyshire, but it starts to get hillier again after this. I don't often walk by the Trent so it made a change for me filming in this part. As always thanks for your lovely comments and for watching :)

Another wonderful film Patrick,very informative as always and great views,so glad to see you out again,loved your coronavirus monologue mid way through,its your presenting style like this that makes the viewer believe you are talking just to them and sharing the walk with you,and why after 131 such films feel as if we know you as a friend,great editing,great music,well done on producing another fab film,always brightens my day to catch up on a new one,take care,Pete.

That was a fabulous video, great that your out and about again and Ironic that Covid is worsening again. I have only visited Derbyshire once, for a holiday a few years ago when we Stayed in a place called Swanwick, do you know it? We found it a great place to stay and a perfect base to explore the county. Its definitely on my list to visit again. Great job Patrick, thank you.

Good episode as always, and that one minute intro was interesting. I didn't know Repton was the capital of Mercia back then, and the place looks tranquil. It makes me wonder why major settlements from many centuries ago are now villages (e.g. Wroxeter). Newton Solney also looks nice and visiting Derbyshire would be great although I live many miles away from there. I've been going out to places again as well, and I went to Abberley two months ago after watching your film on it, and it was great! Looking forward to more episodes, and I'll watch some of your other Derbyshire episodes soon. :-)
@solitaryrambler4 жыл бұрын
Many thanks, that intro was a last minute idea, but I'm glad you found that interesting. Repton and Newlton Solney are both nice villages in a pretty flat part of the county. Nice to know you went to Abberley as a result of my film, glad you liked it there. Thanks again and all the best :)
