Thank you for doing this tribute to Joe Cocker. There will NEVER be another singer to match his driving rock/blues sound or the emotion he put into his ballads. Gone but never forgotten..

I live near where he lived in Sheffield England and was privelidged to play darts with him in our local pub. My grandmother was a friend of his mother Mrs cocker. God rest your soul my friend. The best white soul singer in history. Just great. Best regards from Adrian in Sheffield South Yorkshire England 😀😺

Thank you for such a detailed report . The first time I enjoyed listening to Joe Cocker sing was in a church hall in Sheffield. I have been trying to pin down the year. Joe lived near by my friend and he liked her. Unfortunately she wasn't too keen on him . My last memory of him was my friend asking me to hurry as he was calling out to her to say hello!

Loved loved Joe Cocker. Went to see him the first time and unfortunately he couldn’t perform. He was so stoned and/or drunk. He stood at the microphone or should I say he tried to stand. People were yelling come on Joe,you can do it Joe, Delta Lady Joe. But he just couldn’t and he was helped off the stage. I was heartbroken. I waited another 20 years but it was worth the wait He was fantastic and lived up to being the legend that he is. He lives on in his music - which I still play loud and proud. And I’m 75 years old.

In the movie Teachers a song of his was used "on the edge of a dream" and the song When the Night comes was used in a Tom Selleck movie called "An Innocent Man" I saw him in 1990 at the Garden State Arts Center here in NJ. He was on stage with Stevie Ray Vaughan. It was Stevie's last performance as he died in a helicopter crash in Wisconsin not too long after I saw the concert.

I was showing some friends around the Santa Barbara area. We were driving up a mountain road and one friend says "Doesn't Joe Cocker live arround here"? "Yea, and there he is". There was Joe with a screwdiver and golf cart working on the gate to his driveway. We passed, waved (he waved back) and kept going.

When he was on Saturday night live he did not know that John Belushi was going to come on stage with him that was all ad-lib. It was hilarious! You can pick it up on KZbin.
